This is an odd place. We stayed 2 nights - 1 on our way to haida gwaii and a week later on our way back. Our room was clean and the king bed(north room) was comfortable. The twin bunk mattresses need to be replaced - could feel the springs. Late and early arrivals were accommodated. We requested coffee only for mornings as departure was early and didn't get it. The kitchen is cluttered and filthy - always a sink full of dishes, garbage overflowing. Baskets of laundry all over the living room. The pictures on the listing have been enhanced - especially the exterior. Communication with the host was sporadic. If you can get this place for a cheap price you will have a comfortable place to sleep in a good location in the city.

The stay was very casual. We had a chance to converse with other traveller's. At first there was some confusion about the booking and advance notice which the owner didn't seem too concerned about. Breakfast was good and our pet was welcomed. We would stay there again.

The house is situated on an unprepossessing residential street and it seems that the photo on Hotel.com was taken a while ago. Finding it in the dark relied on a sat nav as the sign isn't prominent. Helpfully there was a note on the front door to tell us how to access our room (we'd arrived at 1am off the ferry from Port Hardy). Breakfast was taken in the host's kitchen area, prepared to order from the menu of options listed in the room. Our room (South room) was clean and comfortable with a large en suite shower/bathroom. One door to our room had no lock and we were mildly concerned that another late arriving guest might inadvertently stumble in - but it didn't happen. Our host was happy to let us use the kettle in the kitchen to make tea at lunchtime and also got up to provide breakfast at 6.30am since we needed to depart early. Staying at the Tall Trees felt more like sharing someone's home than at other establishments. There is parking on the driveway, although you could be in front/behind another guest's vehicle - or there is plenty of unrestricted on street parking. It's about a half hour walk to the shops and water front in Prince Rupert.

Eccentric property! Comfortable bedroom. Public areas ok comfort. Owner a bit rushed with too many duties with various obligations as owner pet hotel & partner brewery. Seemed as though her responsibility at the B&B took a 2nd place role. A bit brash with clientele. Affordable, comfortable & good price for a room. Prince Rupert is a great hiking destination but very tired town for a cruise ship town.

This BnB has several very nice guest rooms on the upper floor and a great common kitchen overlooking beautiful forest in a ravine. Unfortunately, the only room they had available for us was not as nice. The only window looked straight at cars in the driveway and we needed a heater to warm the room. While not very attractive, the room was comfortable and private and had everything we needed. The host was out and unavailable when we arrived, but two of the guests were regulars there and welcomed and oriented us very warmly.
