The hotel is ideally located for exploring the area. It is well appointed, spotlessly clean and the staff are all friendly and polite. Our room was excellent and the food was great. We had breakfast and dinner during outlr stay and both were excellent.

We chose The Market Tavern because of it's location - it is in the same village where our son, daughter-in-law and new grandson live and we were visiting. The whole property has been tastefully renovated and is lovely. We had eaten in the pub before but not stayed. Bampton is a quaint village with plenty of amenities and is well placed for visiting lots of interesting places. Breakfast was good with cold and cooked choices. Staff were friendly and attentive. We would stay again

The Market Tavern is a little gem and a very welcome find! Friendly, welcoming and helpful staff, nice room and bar / restaurant. The star of the show is the food which was superb. A small menu but this means everything is good quality. Prices are reasonable - and worth every penny. With many restaurants now asking £35-45 for a steak, my steak at the Market Tavern was just £24. Ok, it wasn't a fillet or a rib-eye, it was a rump (a so called inferior cut!) But the chef here knows that it's about the cooking and not the cut! Well cooked, tasty and satisfying - all at a great price! What more could you want! A clever move that will bring in the punters! The breakfast (included in the room rate) was also excellent. We have friends in the area and just needed an over night stay so this will definitely be our go to place when we're in the area. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend highly - we'll be back!
