This was my third trip to the area and my third stay there. That alone says most of it. Privately owned. The rooms are nice but have some minor issues. Overall, the property is very good. My needs to come up the the North Country is gone, but if I come through here again, there would be a forth stay The breakfast they provide is awesome.

I always enjoy staying at the Stonefence. They are upgrading the pool area so that wasn't available to swim in, but the beautiful river was! I hope that opening the restaurant will work out for them (they were doing a "soft opening" during the stay). I loved my lunch out on the patio, reading my book and seeing the river.

Beautiful views of the St. Lawrence river. The original building is dated, but the rooms are spacious, quaint and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful and the breakfast is excellent. Unlike a lot of hotels these days, there is also actual maid service. I was surprised that someone actually made the bed during my 2 night stay.
