10/10 Exceptional

Beautiful, unique hotel with tremendous charm, all in hommage to the Muisca people and legends. Great free breakfast that you can have on the roof deck, and a super accommodating and friendly staff. Perfect location too - in Candelaria but a little higher so felt very quiet, and not overly-touristy.

Charming place close to action but quiet

The place is charming with a lovely patio for breakfast and a rooftop terrace and social room where we could hang out. The staff was especially helpful when we arrived and our taxi driver tried to scam us. They paid the driver in cash a reasonable amount and told him to leave. We reimbursed the hotel the next day when we had correct cash.

The Amazing Colombian Vibe❤️🇨🇴☕️ How’s the Arrival was wonderful at check-in! (Our group was late Due to change in travel plans) Wonderfully decorated Boutique Hotel. The staff was Professional and very helpful. The rooms clean, something pulled out of historical colonial Colombian history with 21st century comfort! We were all pleasantly surprised with breakfast on the wonderful Terrace overlooking the beautiful city of Bogotá! This is definitely a five star hotel, and We will definitely be back! Viva Colombia❤️🇨🇴☕️

8/10 Very good

This hotel was our first experience of both Colombia and South America. Now that our trip is over and I look back, I'm struck that we couldn't have had a more representative entrée into the spirit of this continent - warm and hospitable, even at our 2:30am check in. Our room was small but comfortable and clean. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff were extremely amiable and helpful. Overall, we were only there two nights, but it was a great spot to launch out and explore La Candelaria from.

10/10 Exceptional

The staff was very attentive to our every need and was always very polite. We were greeted each time we came back and wished a good day each time we left. The food was always cooked well and the hotel itself was kept clean. The bathrooms are top notch and the wifi is fast. The actual hotel itself is a beautiful old building and is situated excellently to go out sightseeing in the Candelaria. The only issue would be the neighborhood area which is full of trash and grafiti from recent protests, but that is a problem for the local government to solve, not the hotel. Couldn't recomend this hotel enough.

2/10 Poor

Bad hotel.......don't stay here!

I would strongly encourage not staying at this establishment. I have traveled to many countries and all across the US and have never been treated so badly as at this hotel. The decor is charming but the rooms are not as nice as they seem in the photos. But, most importantly, the man in charge made an accusation on the morning after our first night that we had stained the sheets in one of our rooms blue.....the whole sheet! When we pointed out that it is impossible to stain an entire sheet blue, he was rude but backed off. We had rented two rooms. The guests in the second room left later that morning, but again he brought out the sheets to try and get them to pay for the staining. The owner then told our friend that he really didn't like people like us staying at his hotel, which he certainly doesn't need to worry about. It's unfortunate because the hotel it self is not something I would be terribly negative about. It is quirky, but charming, and clean and convenient. Just badly staffed, which obviously comes from the top.
Thomas, 2-night trip

4/10 Fair

I was really excited about my stay here but I was so disappointed! I arrived in Bogota from the US. I was greeted by an older gentleman who acted like I was an inconvenience to him from the very beginning. I speak little Spanish so I just assumed that maybe this was a language barrier, but it was not. I had a friend stop by the hotel with me in the evening to enjoy a beer on the hotel’s roof top (as the gentleman told me I could do). He then proceeds to tell me that I’m not allowed to bring in outside alcohol to the roof deck, only my room. He said that the hotel has a bar and this is a rule. Okay…. I was not aware of there being a bar in the hotel nor that this was a rule. I assumed it was just a cultural difference and said “okay, no problem, we’ll just sit my room.” Then he insisted that my friend could not enter my room because he was not my husband. What?! Sir, this is 2024. Also, is this not a hotel that I paid for? He literally made us leave the deck. He made me feel so uncomfortable that I just went to bed very early. I would have happily spent money at the hotel at the bar if it was allowed. At this point it was nighttime and I was too nervous to go out by myself alone as it is not very safe. So I felt totally trapped. The shower was filthy. Hair was on the walls and on the drain. The bed was horrible!!! I should have just slept on the floor. The breakfast was nice. The hotel was pretty. But I would not stay here again. This gentleman absolutely ruined my stay.

O hostess do hotel é muito prestativo. Os funcionários muito gentis. O maior problema é a acessibilidade dos quartos (alguns com escada em caracol).

We will definitely return

The hotel was beautiful, and the staff were amazing. Very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was great and the location is perfect. It is up a fairly steep hill, but that’s just Bogotá. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and highly recommend Hotel Muisca.

4/10 Fair

Muisca has old world charm... There are 3 floors with a very narrow spiral staircase. There are no accommodations for those who are wheelchair bound. It's rooms are quite small, the amenities are sparse, and the walls are paper-thin. If it's comfort that you seek, this is not the hotel for you. Think more of a vintage hostel. When you leave for the day, to possibly explore your surroundings, you must turn in your room key at the front desk and be let back in, only after you've rang the doorbell. I made a 6 day, 5 night reservation, and after 2 nights--I cancelled the remainder of my reservation forsaking charm for comfort. If you are a traveler that requires very little, when considering a hotel then Hotel Muisca is for you

I am so glad I chose to stay at Hotel Muisca on this trip to Bogota. The people are fantastically amicable, the space is beautiful and cozy. The beds are extremely comfortable, breakfasts offered were always served on time and with grace, and the Muisca images and paintings made me happy. I would recommend Hotel Muisca and look forward to staying there again upon my next visit to La Candelaria. Mil gracias.
