If you want an old school hotel and hospitality experience, look no further. The rooms are basic but quite large, and immaculately clean. The bathroom is a decent size as well with enough room in the shower and sink to comfortably bathe and wash. The hotel was very quiet, and the breakfast in the morning was plentiful and delicious. The breakfast buffet included cooked eggs, bread, pastries, cereal, pancakes, etc. It was a great start to our day. I will definitely stay here again!

Location on the water was beautiful and relaxing and a quick drive over to puffin island! Breakfast provided was able to cater to just about anyone’s dietary restrictions.

Alfheimer is a gem on the east coast. We decided to stay another night. The staff is very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Accommodations were perfect with a comfortable bed and great tasting food. The locally brewed beer is delicious as well. All around a wonderful experience. Should we ever come back to Iceland we will be back here.

We arrived late, about 9:45 pm, and they made sure to wait for us, got us taken care of quickly and showed us to our room. The included breakfast was a decent variety and got us going in the morning. It was a short stay but enjoyable and we would definitely stay there again.

The area is rather remote but the ideal place to see puffins up close -- literally at your feet from the viewing platform that the town has built next to the puffin nesting area. The breakfast and dinner at the hotel were very tasty!
