Though the views were beautiful, our firsr villa was not clean on arrival, the air conditioning leaked on 2nd day so we were moved to another villa which was smaller but clean with a nicer bathroom. Would have preferred that room initially. Staff were not visible and the pool was not clean. Not a very nice stay for us

8/10 Very good

Staff were excellent and friendly. A little run down for the price.

A very old and run down premises, but saved by a beautiful location absolutely stunning beachfront. Reception staff had poor knowledge of the facilities, but the bar and restaurant staff were friendly and welcoming.

Because of Lisa I will highly recommend this hotel to everyone! Thank you Lisa for everything you did for us!❤️ Lisa from restoran is very nice person as well.

2/10 Poor

Pre-Covid Vs Now - Very dissappointing

The hotel is run down and needs alot of renovations. The room is very outdated with repairs needed to the ceiling and bathroom. The swimming pool has alot of broken tiles and really needs some TLC. There is no more access to the beach which is what we were looking forward too with the kids. The breakfast is very minimal, 2x options of fruit, pancakes and eggs. Tea and coffee included but anything else is extra.

In many ways this is a step down from camping in a tent, since in a tent the bugs stay outside of your living space. First, understand what you’re renting: an open-air shelter that has a roof, a wood floor, two beds (one queen & one twin), & a bathroom. The beds are covered by mosquito nets that have enough rips in them to allow insects through. The attached bathroom is the only room that has a door that locks, so anything that you want to keep secure must be kept in the dirtiest room. The bathroom is made of stacked stones held together by mortar, & it looks like whoever built it had never made anything like this before & was both drunk & trying to finish quickly. When I arrived the bathroom contained an abundance of insects, both living and dead (the star: a dead cockroach that was around 7cm / 3 inches long), & both the living & dead bugs multiplied over the course of my stay (the star was joined by a 9 cm / 3.5 in roach). On the plus side, you can see & hear the ocean from both beds. The entire property was clearly built by very short people. If you are of even average height then you will bang your head against overhead obstacles multiple times during your stay, both in the room and in the public spaces. Second, there is nothing nearby. Unless you have a car then you have no options other than enjoying the wading pool, the rather small sandy area they call a beach, or using their free kayaks. The on-site restaurant is mediocre and overpriced, even for Samoa.

Although we thoroughly enjoyed our stay you have to go in with an open mind and not be expecting a 5 star stay. Staff were lovely. It was fun staying in the fales but they do need maintenance work done, particularly in the bathrooms - we had 3 fales and two had no hot water, one didnt lock, one toilet didn't flush properly and none of the safes worked. Also extensive retaining being done right out front so just dirt and rocks to look at, not a beach and trucks and diggers going back and forth during our stay which we were not warned about prior. Didn't bother us much but might for some people.

We were meet with the most unfriendliness service i have ever encountered. Emma needs more training, moved from customer service or firing. Her service and demeaner was truely appalling. The place is extremely run down, only 2 of approx 8 powerpoints worked, no tv in room, bed so uncomfortable felt like were broken. Room was not serviced for the 4 days we stayed. Resort prices for subpar food & accommodation. On on checkout was deliberately attempted to overcharge. When questioned Emma huffed & provided reciepts in seconds which showed the deliberate act. Manager of food & beverage French man & young Samoan boy were both very good. I would never stay here again.

I left another unfavorable review for this property a moment ago. Why did I stay here again if I disliked it so much? There are very few lodging options available on this island, all of the good places were booked, and due to my scuba diving being rescheduled I had to extend my stay. Perversely, extending my stay through the hotel directly would have been about 30% more expensive than booking through Expedia. To amend my previous review: the nearest grocery store is around 2 km / 1 mile away, and the resort that you should stay at is about 4 km / 2 miles east of this one, and that one has a few restaurants, a grocery store, and an ATM nearby. Note that in Samoa nearly everything other than hotels and their on-site restaurants are closed on Sundays, so plan accordingly. Also, my two scuba dives here were unremarkable, so if you’re coming for the diving then I encourage you to reconsider. Fiji has much better diving, beaches, and restaurants, and is substantially cheaper as well. While I won’t say that I’d never stay here again, the circumstances under which this would be a good option include a zombie infestation everywhere but this island. Do with this information what you will.

This property is sadly very run down and clearly has not been maintained over the years. It is barely functioning on minimal staff who were minimal and not particularly welcoming or helpful. The bar, pool and pool table are grubby and broken. The furniture around the pool is old, the pool and decking is moldy and worn out, and in the rooms although tidy were dirty and the curtains were moldy. The bathroom is at the entrance so you can’t enter when someone is using it. The front door was so buckled with damp and age it got stuck on the floor tiles. The beds were comfortable enough but the aircon dripped, there was no tv, the shower head was broken and drinbbled and the tap handle fell off. The toilet was not attached to the floor and the shower floor was dirty. The restaurant is not functioning, the breakfast was minimal (pastries, pancakes, boiled eggs, toast and pawpaw, tea/coffee). Juice is an extra charge. Lunch or dinner needs to be pre arranged but there are better options at nearby resorts. The waterfront position and view from the villas (3 and 4) was lovely though. I would not recommend staying here unfortunately and us not good value for money. The whole place needs a full renovation or to be advertised as a low budget/backpackers hotel and rooms offered at a lower price.

Great place to stay. The fales are a bit noisy if your neighbours are up early and making noise, but it was still very enjoyable. The fiafia night was a great experience, and the staff were so kind and helpful. Great place to stay with delicious food and drinks.

2/10 Poor

Disgusting

This place is not as portrayed in the current website pics. What you see in photos is nothing like what it is. I booked and paid for 3 nights. Clever on their part as it was non refundable. After enduring one night we couldn’t stay another and spoke to front desk about our concerns. The manager said he would refund- but never did. Hotels.com we are not impressed that you have taken our money and we have no way of getting it back, resulting in us having to pay for alternate accommodation. This place is so run down and nothing like the photos. There is no beach, constant power failures. The pool was very dirty and unsafe to swim in due to the broken bottom surface.
This is what the pool really looks like. And those black things at the bottom is the floor disintegrating.
There is no beach at all. This was low tide. Don’t listen to the rubbish about global warming

The beach at Stevensons is so beautiful but unfortunately, the accommodation was dated and overpriced. It needs some renovations to restore it to what it once was. The bedding had bleach stains, and the fridge rusted. It felt unclean. The pool had rubbish in it and hazardous broken tiles. Breakfast was included but we had to ask for coffee and butter. There were so many stray cats on the breakfast table and our beds, they also fought at night. It was an unpleasant stay and we ended up leaving early.

The villa itself was not prepared up to standards compared to what I paid for each night. Thinking it was a villa it would have provided some dental cleaning supplies, soap for the shower or body wash (we only had about 2 tiny bottles of shampoo and conditioner. Kitchen and food, was not much and breakfast was at average. I do recommend that if they have only 2 units/rooms booked a night, might be a good idea to set up a breakfast platter to deliver to each room rather thank a buffet that sits out too long and to also give something for server to do. Villa and appearance would have been okay if inside had a bit of light colour decor, ceiling or walls.

Pros - Heaps of beds in the suites - Strong aircon Cons - Two staff catering to all guests the whole weekend. - Limited menu & food was not fresh. They charged an extra $5 for fish meals however, fish was definitely old and chewy - Ran out of Niu/Coconuts. Only had 2 our whole stay - No daily service unless you go to reception to ask - Pool looks like it hasn’t been cleaned for months!! Not ONE person swam in it our whole stay - Toilet was very dirty - Bed linen had pee stains!!! & pillows looked like they’re about to grow mould on them. - Overpriced for the facilities & services (lack of) provided. Overall, not a great experience! We will not be staying there again & do not recommend.
