Everything about our stay was perfect — the staff, both at reception and in housekeeping, were exceptional. The cleanliness of the room was excellent. Downstairs, the hotel provided thoughtful extras like toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, and sachets of shampoo, conditioner, face wash, and even hair oil. We were able to borrow umbrellas on rainy days and appreciated the option to leave our luggage after check-out. It really is a beautiful and well-run hotel.
But (and there’s always a but!), the room we were given (Room 717) faced directly into another building — so that was our “view” for five days. The building was so close that we couldn’t even see what the weather was like outside. Unfortunately, this wasn’t mentioned in the room description or visible in the booking photos.
That said, we were out exploring most of the time, so it wasn’t a major issue. I just would have appreciated knowing in advance — it would’ve avoided the surprise. And like I said, I really couldn’t fault the hotel otherwise and didn’t want to make a fuss and let this one thing spoil an otherwise lovely stay.
