The bed is very comfortable. We had a nice sea view. The rooms whilst not big are well equipped. The staff were friendly. The only downside is the nearby nightclub which did impact our sleep on a Saturday night, Sunday was ok. If you have ear plugs it should not deter you from staying at the hotel.

We used Granville as our hub to explore the Normandy area in France. We rented a car and stayed at Hotel des Bains for five nights. The room was clean and comfortable. We had our adult son along so we book the "Superior Family Room side sea view" which was excellent. Our son had his own area with a privacy curtain. Our balcony looked over the sea. We had a great stay.

Bed confortable - room deco very depressing (dark). No kettle to make tea or coffee, no fridge with drinks (?) and very hot only one small window to open. 1 receptionist was polite but the other one not welcoming at all. I tried to contact Hotel a week in advance to ask to change from 2 persons to one - every time I called the phone was put down. I tried to explain situation when I arrived but did not try to help me eventhough i paid a double room for only me. Lastly I had to wait 3 pm to get my room. A long time to wait after a long trip.

Disappointing stay

The stay was awful. I called in advance requesting a lower level floor and we were put on the fourth level. Room was not clean, smelled very musty. The worst part was the noise from other guests from 1 until 4 in the morning. Yelling, banging and knocking on doors. This was the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had and I’m so disappointed as Granville was an exciting stop on our trip. I never write reviews but needed to write this one.

Even it is an old renovated hotel, it is very nice. I like that they have a restaurant on site. I like the location. Unfortunately, there is no parking. Public parking may be free but not available almost all the time. Taxi is not available without prior reservation. WiFi is a huge problem for iPhone users. No internet connection at all.

Séjour catastrophique du début à la fin. À notre arrivée, accueil glacial du veilleur de nuit, aussi aimable qu’une porte de prison. Il exige le paiement complet alors que la chambre était déjà réglée en ligne. Impossible de lui montrer la preuve : il coupe la parole et renvoie au lendemain. Professionnalisme inexistant. La chambre est propre, mais l’insonorisation est désastreuse. Nous avons entendu une conversation téléphonique d’une autre chambre jusqu’à 2h du matin, comme si la personne était avec nous. Le lendemain, un réceptionniste enfin agréable nous informe que la taxe de séjour n’avait pas été réglée la veille… Organisation plus que douteuse pour un hôtel en bord de mer à Granville. Nous réglons malgré tout. Le petit-déjeuner finit de gâcher l’expérience : salle vide, accueil froid, puis une employée nous reprend sèchement parce que nous sommes assis “au mauvais endroit”. Après des excuses, elle insinue que nous l’avons fait exprès. Inadmissible. On se croirait à la cantine, pas dans un 3 étoiles. Seul point positif : le réceptionniste du matin, qui a remboursé le petit-déjeuner face à la situation. Un hôtel est un lieu de service : ici, certains semblent l’avoir oublié. Très décevant pour un établissement 3 étoiles.
