A perfect Northern Michigan winter resort. Warm fireplaces in the lobby, nice and cozy bar, and beautiful campus. Taylor at the front desk was kind, friendly and courteous. I will be back in the summer with my sticks to check out the golf courses!

The hotel rooms are really dated. Our bathroom door literally fell out of it's hinges. When we went to complain, we were told that the manager didn't arrive till later and would call us. Of course we never got a call. If you want something straight out of a 1940 decor and build, this is the place for you. On the positive side, folks were nice enough at the front desk and the rooms were as clean as something this dated allows.
So much for closing the bathroom door when doing your business.

Let them know if you're bringing a pet.

They welcomed pets however it was important to make sure you let them know you had a pet with you so they could have you assigned to a pet friendly room. If you took a pet into a non pet friendly room there was a $200 penalty.

We had a wonderful stay at the resort. It is a beautiful area and worth visiting. The room was large with lots of coffee and a refrigerator. We were there only one night but it was a great room.

The room was clean and the front desk service was good. The thermostat seemed to be non-functional, we had to plug in a wall heater and it ran all night to warm up the room. The buildings were just worn out. The paint was chipped, the cement steps were broken, the wooden steps were worn down. The location was good, just outside Gaylord. It had a golf course and ski runs which we didnt use. If you're just looking for a place to sleep for the night it will be okay just keep your expectations in check.

We were put in a terrible building that was being refinished looked like it should have been torn down. Our room was filthy!!!!! Carpet filthy!!!! Ordered a burger from restaurant wasn't edible. It was nothing like we saw online.

If traveling with pets, don't book with Hotels.com

If you are traveling with pets, DO NOT book through Hotels.com. I requested 3 rooms for all of us for the night, plus traveling with 2 dogs. When we arrived, we were told that Hotels.com did not book us dog friendly rooms. Of course they had some available for an upcharge. Then we were put in the oldest outdated and musty part of the resort. What a way to start our vacation. I will never use Hotels.com again.

The building was in disrepair and being worked on during our stay. Entry way doors were left open all day allowing in bugs. Even on my floor I was the one closing the out door that night. Toilet seat would not stay up unless you held it up. Exhaust fan would come on but did not work. The place appears to be one that could be great, but there are alot of years on neglect and disrepair.

Nice, quaint older property. Spacious with comfortable beds and great view. Could use a major update, but clean and comfortable. Seemed to be pretty empty when we were there on Labor Day weekend. Golf course looked nice. Would have liked to have had time to play. Close to the downtown area for shopping and dining. Would like to come back to play golf or ski. Only an hour from Mackinaw

The room was horrendous, black spider widow in the dirty bathroom, linens were not cleaned and looked used. The safety latch on the door was broken. The overall condition of the room was poor and not cleaned at all, it’s as if they tried to make it look like they cleaned by reusing everything from the previous guest. When we complained they said we had to go through Expedia as this is how we booked.
