The stay was exceptional. The building and location is exquisitely historical and you get a feel like you are back in the 1920's with an elegant, but not overbearing, touch of modernism and high tech accommodation features, and a virtual front desk. The staff on site were amazing... In fact the word "amazing" doesnt do them justice. They were above and beyond on every occasion. Especially Brandon Young (front desk, security and knowledgeable extraordinaire). Sarah, the coffee master barista who would concuct drinks that are heavenly to the taste buds and Nathalie, the kindest most courteous soul one could meet. I will definitely be coming again.

They didn’t have my room ready until after 7p, which is unacceptable for a one night stay, or any stay really. There was a smoke detector in the room next door that was beeping and could be loudly heard in my room. For the price point, it is not worth it. My friends had a room and their tv stopped working, in-room steamers didn’t work, and it took them over an hour to deliver an iron (with a broken ironing board).

This hotel was definitely one of my more unique hotel experiences, as it was my first time staying somewhere that had automated check-in and check-out procedures. I did not know what to expect going into it, but I was pleasantly surprised by the text messaging of the property and how the clearly they communicated the procedures. As a result, I had no trouble at all accessing my room upon arrival. The room was definitely clean, but there were a couple of minor things about it that stood out. The bed had a futon-style mattress that was a bit firmer than some people might like, although I felt comfortable on it. The other concern was the water pressure in the shower. I had a hard time getting the water warm enough, and the output from the showerhead was not very strong, so using it took a while. Beyond that, though, staying here was a very pleasant experience and a good value for downtown LA.

Really loved our stay here. The room and hotel lobby were always clean, and I really liked the vibe and style. All the staff we interacted with were super nice and helpful. In the lobby they had a small cafe and a Korean pop-up restaurant that was delicious! There was a bus stop across the street and it wasn't too far from metro central for the trains. There are a bunch of cafes and restaurants within walking distance that were all great. My husband and I already decided when we left that if we travel to LA in the future we will stay here again

Great room, insane check-out adherence policy

Overall a great stay, it's a nice hotel and my girlfriend and I loved our 3-day stay in our room with a balcony. Take caution, though: they are *extreme* (and a bit unprofessional) about strict adherence to check-out time. Check-out time is 11am, and on our last day we got a knock on our door promptly at 11:06 am asking when we would be vacating the room. I told them we just needed a few more minutes - 10 minutes at most - and we would be out. At 11:15 am, as we were leaving the room, I received a text message from a staff member informing me that if we did not leave soon, they would make a charge on my reservation and/or revoke my ability to stay at Kasa hotels in the future. ...this was 15 minutes past check-out time. Were we late? Admittedly yes. ...by 15 minutes. Threatening to charge my account and revoke my ability to stay at their properties in the future? What hotel threatens that for being 15 minutes late? It's not as if we were walking out of our room at 1pm... I very much understand hotels are busy, they need time to clean rooms and prep for next guests, etc. I get it. But you don't take those measures against someone who's running a few minutes (!!) behind. Anyway, nice hotel. Good location. Get the room with the balcony, it's great. Only downside to the room was that the carpet was not well maintained (stained, dirty, etc). And make damn sure you're out of that place by 11am on the mf dot!
