Stopped here as it was "near" (an hour away) to the Eagle's Nest which we were visiting the following day and one if the more reasonably priced hotels available at short notice (€148). Hotel setting is lovely, parking our car opposite by the park in which we had our evening meal from a Steak House restaurant on the corner. Room was large, clean, quite dated but fit the style of the hotel which is over 100 years old. Good choice of breakfast in the morning. No negatives to call really, definately recommend.

Lovely stay

We had a beautiful large and comfortable room with nice views. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. The mattress was not firm enough for my taste but ok. The hotel is a little bit worn in some areas but we had reasonable room rates. The location is great for walking to town and trains.

Allgemein war der Aufenthalt sehr gut! Das Hotel ist ein wenig älter und nicht komplett renoviert, aus diesem Grund vier Sterne. Beim Frühstück gab es genügend Auswahl, sogar Orangensaftpresse stand zur Verfügung. Leider hatte das Restaurant nicht ausreichend Plätze für das Abendessen. Sauna war perfekt! Meine Fenster gingen direkt auf die Straße, leider war es bis spät Abend etwas laut.

Quirky. Staff is friendly and efficient. Check In is easy, before 21:30. After that you have to find a lock box, through the courtyard, in the dark, behind the hotel. Not the easiest, but instructions are good. Interesting and eclectic themed decorations and decor make the hotel a fun and interesting place to stay. Very convenient to downtown area . Have stayed several times now and will come back.

Wasn't my first choice either time I stayed, but both times were pleasant experiences. I checked in after 10 p.m. which means there is no one at the desk. Basically check yourself in by going to the back entrance of the hotel and use a code that is sent to you to open a lockbox where there are keys to select for a room. Lots of aclektic arrangements, furniture, and decorationa in the hotel, which gives it lots of character. I actually would go back except the rooms are a bit expensive considering the size and overall comfort. €138 to €148 depending on the day of the week, even in Expedia. Does include a good breakfast spread though too.
