This is the cutest property. It’s quiet, lush, & well appointed. You feel like you are in Hawaii! We had a 2 bed suite that has a large bathroom, sitting area & kitchenette. They also have a full size kitchen & entertainment room next to the pool that anyone can use. There are grills & a shell/fish washing station on the grounds. The pool is lovely. The location on Periwinkle is perfect for coming & going. We had a wonderful time here and will definitely be back!!!

This was my first time in Sanibel and I loved staying here! The hotel was close to everything and so nice and adorable! There isn’t daily housekeeping, which I actually love, but anything you need you can get at the office.

The room was so humid, the A/C could not keep up. Everything we owned was damp the entire time we were there. There were times we needed towels but no staff was there.

The Kona Kai is centrally located along Periwinkle Way and is close to dining, shopping and the beaches. The entire property, both inside and outside, were very clean and well maintained. Check in was simple and the staff were helpful with questions. Room rates were reasonable. This is our new "go to" place for lodging on Sanibel Island.

Wonderful stay. The rooms and whole property were well thought-out, clean, and kitchy but so attractive. The staff was so nice and paid great attn to details. The beds were very comfortable and the property is in a great location. We enjoyed our rental car but didn’t really need it.with great restaurants, Jerry's, at an easily walkable distance and beaches would not be a far bike ride. The only.thing we'd recommend is adding some hooks to dry towels and bathing suits. We loved it and will definitely recommend and be back!!

Very clean and quiet. The rooms were very nice. My only negative comment is that in the welcome letter you are asked to take out trash and dispose of it in a dumpster to avoid a trash fee which is something I’ve never encountered in a hotel before.

Although one can visit the sister property to do laundry, I wish the motel had an onsite washer and dryer to help guests who need to change clothes due to the amount of sand and salt at the beaches. I wish the motel's TV did not turn off at times, necessitate unplugging and replugging the power cord and cable. I wish the motel room had a safe and have bins for recycling. I do appreciate being in a dedicated building for my room, the unique keypad for locking and unlocking the door, the availability of a microwave oven and mini-fridge, the presence of utensils and paper towels, the lighting on the bathroom mirror, the presence of an induction stove/hotplate, the unique alarm clock and bowls and plates. I wish there was a ramp to the door for those transporting large luggage and who are handicapped.
