The Pirate Haus is an old hostel and has the same vibe. Be aware that it is on the second floor of a building and the stairs are substantial. It is right in the heart of the old town and a great starting point for exploring on foot. The place is quite old with lots creaking floors etc. There is a hostel style kitchen and a common lounge. No TVs in the rooms. It was clean and the staff/owner was very welcoming. Not everyones cup of tea but we have stayed in a lot of hostels over the years and quite liked this one. Make sure to arrange for parking behind the building as it can be difficult otherwise.

Loved this place! It is right in the middle of downtown, you can walk to everything. They have an option for nearby parking for a reasonable fee or free parking in garage a few blocks away. Great location right in the heart of the historic area. Very friendly staff and easy check in process. It’s a no frills place so if you want more comforts of home and plan to spend lots of time in the room- this isn’t the place for you. It’s an old building and noise carries easily. Hann was very friendly and professional and made our stay very enjoyable. Her pancakes every morning were very tasty and fun for the entire family. The rooms were very neat and very nicely decorated. The only issue to point out would be the bathrooms, they do need a bit of a makeover. Location is great and they provide afforable parking right behind the property.
