Clean room, very kind staff, close to train station, and bus lines, and a good breakfast. 24 hour reception. My room was a bit simpler than the one in the presentation. Keep in mind this is a 2-star hotel, so the Excellent rating is given from a value for money for a 2-star hotel. Will for sure return, next time in Rome.

We stayed 4 nights in Radio hotel. We arrived at first day late because our plane was delayed. Therefore we called with the hotel and the receptionist was very helpfull and the night receptionist by arrival as well. The furniture is old but the room was cleaned every day and the personall was very kind. The location is very good, only cca. 400 m away from train station and two bus stops are cca 100 m from hotel. We were satisfied with our stay in Radio hotel.

It was clean and the facilities were updated. Decor simple & inviting. Bar & breakfast at the hotel were nice addition. Staff efficient and friendly. We enjoyed the neighborhood restaurants. It was walkable to the train station.

Even though I had put a do not disturb sign, workers came in to paint my room. The rooms also get cold at night so you need to ask for the AC remote from the front desk.

The location is very sketchy. The "hotel" isn't close to the main squares. The "beds" are not beds they are cots with a hard mattress and one sheet. The rooms are extremely tiny. We were charged $10 euros per night because they had to rearrange the room for 3 beds when in fact they were cots 2" from each other. The shower water was scolding hot you couldn't get under the shower water. The water never got warm it was either extremely hot to scolding hot which is such a hazard, someone can get serious burned. You have to pay extra for air conditioner $10 euros per night. The "hotel" was so bad we only stayed 1 night even though we paid for 3 nights. We left early and lost money but I didn't care thats how bad it was.

Super recommended!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location is excellent, just a 3-minute walk from the bus stop.And if you are coming by train or metro then nearly 10 minutes walk from the station.Transportation is super easy. Around the hotel, there are several coffee and pizza shops, along with a good supermarket, also cloth store and other shops making it very convenient. The room was spacious and super clean, and the bathroom was excellent too. The cleanliness of the hotel is outstanding, and the staffs are friendly too. We are there for five nights.The only thing I think to get better is the sound proofing is not good.But we didnot have a problem with sound ;So its OK for us.Also the hotel staff is so nice they give us a room upgrade. We would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Rome.

Great location (shops, culture, history, and lots of transport options including Trastevere train station 5-10 mins walk a way from the hotel which goes straight to and from the airport for €8) Our room was clean, modern and spacious with a balcony and bathroom Staff are friendly and helpful - Walls are very thin so your quality of sleep is determined by how considerate your fellow guests are - The street outside is noisy - The hotel is split between a number of random floors of an apartment building. Reception is on floor 7 and you have to buzz into the building before going up the small elevator to get your room key. Our room was on floor 4. You also have to return the key to reception whenever you leave. Overall, I recommend Radio Hotel but not for everyone. You have to be able to put up with some big quirks to enjoy your stay fully.

Staff were helpful and professional. Room looks nothing like in the photos -- or perhaps it did 20 years ago. Outdated, poor condition and poorly maintained. Only a drizzle of water from the shower; one of the sink taps not working; uncomfortable bed; shutters barely open; window rattles. I'd intended to take breakfast, but didn't trust it on seeing the condition of the room.

Solo traveller's experience

Fantastic value for money, and the location works very well too. Sure, the building and facilities are old, but I had no issue with that. Many people leave bad reviews because they simply are used to too much luxury. This hotel meets your needs, and I would stay here again. Reception is also extremely nice, which adds to the charm of this place. Some things I want to add (because some of the reviews I've seen are just people being silly): If you want to adjust the temperature of your room, look for the AC remote or ask for it! I made the mistake of not doing this the first night, but it was very straight forward, and the AC works great. Breakfast is either white or whole grain toast with only a few toppings (meats, cheese, egg). Cold yogurt and cereal was also available. It's not much, but it's breakfast and saves you time looking for a breakfast place in the morning. Yes. The shower temperature can vary. This is because you're not the only person using water in an 8-floor building. If the water gets too hot, step out of the stream of water. The shower is large enough to do that. I'm sorry, but the reviews complaining about this made me so confused. This place is a great budget option.

A bit expensive for the poor overall experience

Positive : good location, welcoming staff, clean room Negative : noisy cleaning staff in the morning, difficult to sleep after 8am, the shower was not working properly. You had to press a button continuously for the shower head to spray water. The shower drain does not empty properly and the air freshener does not smell very good.
