My family and I stayed at Motel 6 near the Great Highway. The location is great, with the beach right across the street, but that is where the positives end. The front desk clerk barely acknowledged us at check-in. When we walked into our room, it had a strange odor with a car freshener hanging on the mirror. The door had only a deadlock, but you could see the chain was broken off. The T.V did not work and the toilet paper dispenser was broken. The spare room had lots of scraped paint off the door and the window was open when we walked in and all we could smell was trash coming from below. The floor had quite a few soft spots and felt very thin, we were on the second floor. Very sad to say this, worst stay my family and I have ever had.

Helpful staff. It gets the job done for just a bed and a shower between work travel shifts. Bare minimum. Great location next to the beach. Recommend 2nd or top floor due to various noise issues at night/early morning.

I gave an extra star for location ALONE. Faint smell of urine and smoke in the room. The shower didn’t drain and was above my ankles by the end of my shower. This location is in dire need of upgrades. I booked a King room and when I arrived they gave me a double bed room. I was too tired to even try to get it corrected and I truly didn't think the staff would care or listen. It was LOUD but ultimately fine for one night and thats it. The location was really the best part of this stay. It’s literally across the street from the beach and Golden State Park.

It was the dirtiest motel I’ve ever slept in. There was black mold around the bedroom window in the back and it smelled something awful! One of the cleaning ladies I had asked for towels was rude to me. I hated this place. I would have switched hotels had I known it be this horrible. But it being valentines weekend I had no options. Never again would I ever stay here!!

Rooms have become smelly and dilapidated. Floors creak and good luck sleeping if you’re not on the top floor. Staff was slow to respond to a chirping, low-battery smoke alarm. Took almost three hours to get maintenance. Family member was severally hurt when she ran into the side of a poorly put together bed frame. Cut shin so deep she ended up in the emergency room. The staff had no manager and were less than helpful when we tried to at least file an incident report at the front desk. Never again. We stay there because of proximity to ocean beach and a wonderful coffee cafe on the corner and how close to Golden Gate Park.
