Highly recommend a long weekend stay at Ridgemill Estate. Perfect location with beautiful views over the vineyard and beyond! Nestled in nature a little ways out of Stanthorpe, you can very much see wallabies hopping around between the vines. The surrounding nature is very pretty. The grounds are organised around the tasting area with individual bungalows in small clusters. All nicely quiet and private. We met the resident cat who really acted as he owned and lived in our bungalow… there’s a deck, a sitting area with a sofa facing the fireplace, the breakfast corner, a slightly separated bed and two separate areas for the kitchenette and bathroom. The place is rather tastefully appointed. Communication with the owners was easy and efficient. Staff on the grounds were nice and able. There is however a but — and that’s appreciating how complicated it must be to keep a hotel to high standards in a somewhat rural area: the whole bungalow construction does not seem to be of very high quality and we’d say that age is showing prematurely, including wobbly floors and walls when you walk around. Overall we found that the value did not quite match the cost of the stay which well exceeded 300$ and would not necessarily recommend.

The staff are so friendly. Take advantage of the opportunity to taste the wines of this boutique winery. The fortified wines (port) are especially excellent!! We used the pizza oven as well as the BBQ to cook dinner. A great asset to these adorable cabins in a beautiful spot.
