Convenient for us to walk to County Cricket ground to support Somerset and into Brighton.
Good all round experience, though we felt breakfast let it down a little. Not as expected especially as it was "Award Winning". Only one flavour of juice on offer, pastries had to be asked for and our cooked food, on the first morning, was not very hot. Second day, slightly better. Staff attentive and very pleasant.

Premium experience
My bed was comfy and room was serviced everyday throughout my six day stay. The front door of the building is locked all the time so one has to always carry the key. The general area and my room were full of oil and watercolor paintings for sale which adds a warm touch to the overall feel of the hotel. I love the light breakfast everyday with a smoked salmon and scrambled tofu and a cup of peppermint tea. The staff wwere friendly. The bathroom was super clean and the soap and lotion was ok at the best. The Claremont is on a quite street at least during the weekdays and half a block from the beach. Seagulls make noise and there are a couple of nice restaurants and bars on the street. I have seen a squirrel in the garden once and there is a nice atomic wall clock in the drawing room.

Luxuries and Freedom
The luxury you experience in this place cannot be found even in a 5-star hotel. It was a very quiet place, a haven of freedom. It felt like home. The garden was amazing.

Well placed, with pleasant rooms.
Clean, airy and spacious room, but a bit chilly during the day as no heating until evening.
Well placed for seafront and a plethora of restaurants offering food from around the world.
Hotel boasts a ‘five star breakfast’ but we found this was disappointing with little choice of cereal, no yoghurts or pastries, very limited toast and somewhat patchy service if you wanted more of something.

Disappointed
The Hotel was in a good location but further from the town of Brighton then we were led to believe. Check in was ok, on street parking was good and reasonably priced.
The room was up 4 flights of stairs no lift not ideal .
The room was adequate, dated and lacked modern facilities, tea coffee etc was available but not topped up on the second night so unable to have a morning drink.
And on to the most Disappointing Breakfast very poor quality certainly not what I would of expected from a so called 5 star breakfast ( barely 2 star in my mind)
This did put a massive downer on our weekend.
Probably the most disappointing place I’ve stayed in and certainly very expensive for what we got,

Dejligt byhotel i Hove
Hygsomt ældre hotel.
Dejligt centralt i Hove, med en kort gåtur til stranden. Eller 10min i bus til central brigthon.
God services,

Parking definitely not included.
This hotel is well located and fairly tidy, but a few little things let it down. Worst being that I filtered hotels with parking included. When I arrived I was disappointed to discover that the hotel didn’t have parking. I had to find a space on the very busy street and pay a parking charge for it.
Windows looked like they had never been cleaned. Bathroom was very cramped and had one shelf that was above the toilet. Be very careful with that.

Great position. Lovely room but could be better appointed. Breakfast was advertised as 5 star but more like 3 star. Thought it was expensive for a bed and breakfast.

Nice historic property that is walkable to Brighton promenade. Good bus service as well. Friendly, accommodating staff. Bed a bit firm, but better than too soft. Huge room. Toilet didn’t flush very well and shower water pressure was low. Overall, a good value and we enjoyed it.

Quiet and quirky
Lovely and quirky bed and breakfast on a quiet street in Hove with a beautiful garden. Our room was very large. The bathroom was a bit fiddly. There are signs everywhere that say "5-star accommodation." While this is a lovely b&b, it's not a 5-star hotel.

There is nothing to share other than it is not anywhere near 5 Star just a Bed and breakfast nothing special . Parking terrible but the Claremont will give you a zone parking ticket for 24 hrs. Stairs up and down bit tough on over 75’s .

Clean up
Claremont is a Victorian building dating from 1880. There are some sighs of age. A lick of paint or a clean up would make a world of difference. Often just a small mark on the paintwork lets the property down.
