6/10 Good

Parking was terrible, it was so tight someone parked next to me and I couldn’t get in the car, Staff came out and moved a car so I could park inside

Not the best night sleep

Very welcoming and shown to the room. However we were not advised the kitchen closed at 8 on a Sunday and we missed the being able to order by 1 minute (7:59) Lots of info about tea and coffee but when it came to it there was no milk. The bed was comfy, but the night we stayed there were howling winds outside which caused cupboard doors to rattle and a cold draft through the bedroom door. At 4:30am we finally figured what was rattling and propped pillows against it and managed a couple of hours sleep. We tried to inform reception when checking out but only found the a cleaner to hand back the key. We did return later in the day to advise the issues we had.

Room was clean and comfortable, food was lovely, the staff were brilliant and helpful. The only problem was the remote control for the tv didn't work and staff didn't seem to know how to fix it. While it's certainly not the most important thing we all know 99% of hotels have got TV's in them, it's standard these days so the staff should be trained in how to work or set up the remotes and there should always be spares. There should be a set of instructions near the reception or even in the rooms explaining step by step how to set it up. On the surface it doesn't seem a big issue but as I said if tv's are a standard thing these days then it's maybe a slightly bigger issue than it initially seems. Staff really should be trained in how to set them up. To explain how to set it up is nothing more than a 10 minute job. If you use 'One For All' remotes and buy 6 tv's, all the same make and model then it will be easy

So close to the shopping centre. Staff were very welcoming.excellent breakfast. When was clean and tidy we had a good night. We will definitely return in the future.

8/10 Very good

Nothing particularly unique. Good, mostly clean (sticky patch on bathroom floor). Good service, good food (pipping hot served on a cold plate!). Certainly good value.

Loved the location and the GREAT shower, the bed mattress & lack of a flat sheet were annoying. The food in the dining room was good but the sticky tabletops were "ick."

Small Issues with room

Room was clean and decent size. Window catch was broken so couldn't close window. There was a draft all the time. This was reported but wasn't fixed whilst I was there. Food in restaurant was good. Hotel is in a good location for center of Ely.

Very Disappointing!

Very disappointed with room as there was a terrible smell of the drains coming from the bathroom. The breakfast is a joke as it starts very late at 8.30 am. We went in at 8.30 and were the only people in. The cooked breakfast eventually arrived at 9.30am! There were no other options i.e cereal or fruit. The hot beverages were charged as extras to the breakfast! We won't be going back!

Limited parking , first come first served basis . Food & drinks were good apart from the carvery on the Sunday as we ate late when the carvery was finishing up so not the same choices as normal. Image it's good at lunchtime . Breakfast wasn't till 10 o'clock which wasn't a problem for us and would have arranged for chef to come in earlier if we needed it . Room was comfortable with a nice large shower.
Philip, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Room was tired with loose toilet seat, shower door not closing causing water on the floor, tv not connected to arial so only able to use subscriptions services. Door lock worn making it difficult to lock and unlock. On a positive, food was great and bed comfortable and staff were pleasant.
Aubrey, 1-night trip

A beautiful place to stay with fantastic staff. We picked the hottest two days of the year to stay, 30 and unfortunately there was no Air Conditioning. The room was unbearably hot as the window was tiny but we were brought up a second fan. Didn’t make much difference as it was just so hot! Not the hotels fault about the weather but I was expecting that little bit extra as the place had just had a refit.

Modernized and clean rooms with modern onsuite. Great facilities. Excellent value and good location. Easy check in. No car park but free next door in council car park overnight. Would stay again. Didnt have time to use bar or restaurant.

Comfortable stay...

The hotel was comfortable and simple, and met our needs well. We did find some marks on the duvet sheet and when we woke up a bug was seen on our sheets. Not sure what that could be, but let them know. Stay was otherwise comfortable. Walking distant to Ely high street and the Cathedral.

Great location.

Great location for exploring Ely, lovely staff really helpful. Only slight downside was the room was very warm in the peak of summer!! a fan was provided. The management are really good but obviously the weather is out of their control!! In cooler months its wonderful.

Perfect for the town

Perfect location for accessing the cathedral and the town. Very welcoming with a very good selection of meals and breakfasts. Pleanty of parking and convenient Type 2 ev charging at the back of the hotel. I felt totally refreshed and set up for the day.

Room smelt of drains, broken safe, broken window security, thin walls, and fire alarm went off at 1am. The fire alarm can go off in any hotel but most send a message to their guests or even partially comp the room. No comms from this hotel following incident.

Lovely pub rooms

Quiet, comfortable rooms. Due to the weather, the room was quite hot and hard to cool down. The thick duvet was too much for sleeping, but the pillows and bed were very comfortable. Some instructions in the room on what to do at checkout if reception is not yet open would have been helpful.
1-night trip

6/10 Good

The room was clean and quiet which was good. However the toilet seat was loose and bedside lights did not work. I left notification for the High Flyer so hopefully these will be sorted out as I do understand that these things can be missed if not advised. My concern was that we were told that if we wanted breakfast they would have to get someone in specially as they would not be getting in till 10am the next morning. Whilst they said they could do this it made us feel like it would be an imposition so we went elsewhere to eat in the morning.
