I have stopped at this hotel may times, the staff are always very freindly as are the locals,no food being served in hotel at the moment and you have to go across the road to the sister hotel The County for breakfast, not a problem for me as I don't tend to bother with breakfast, there are plenty of eating spot out in Hexham so eating out was no hassle, I always try and stop here when I'm working in Hexham which I do every 3 months.

Very nice place to stay and twinned with The County Hotel which is where you have your very good breakfast. Staff were great, rooms modern and clean. My room was hot but that was due to unusually warm summer. Will return again after the Victorian Tap reservation debacle.

Fantastic place to stay
Eva was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room was lovely, recently refurbished and included little extras like toiletries and coffee, tea and biscuits which were a welcome addition. I would have loved to have stayed longer than the one night!

Good hotel
Lovely hotel with parking around. Spacious room, comfy beds, the only negative is that it was so warm. Couldn't leave the fan running overnight as it was noisy and couldn't leave the window open as was on to a fire escape which would have meant it was accessible from the outside. Bathroom was fab, loads of toiletries and good shower. Breakfast was freshly made to order and was very nice.

I work in Hexham every 3 months and struggle to find somewhere to stop within my work budget, the Coach and Horses was just right for me ,great hotel , staff really friendly and welcoming, the room and food was very good, I've only had the breakfast once when stopping here and its very good, parking can be tricky but there is and unsecured area to park across the road from the hotel ,would definitely recommend, and I will be stopping again

Fantastic hotel in the heart of hexham
We booked in for the one night and wished we were staying for more .
Fantastic welcome by ian , we were shown to the room and he made sure everything was ok for us . The room was spotless with a very comfortable bed , the hotel decor was very tasteful and cosy .
The evening meals we had were tasty and value for money .
Our experience was made so much better by the friendly and professional staff .
We will be coming back here again for a longer stay

Current road closures make it difficult to access the hotel and parking is a fair distance.
Apart from this, an excellent stay with very friendly and helpful staff.
I would like to return when things are back to normal.

Lovely stay for 2 nights
We had a lovely stay at the Coach and Horses, very clean and comfortable, lovely breakfast and food. We where given a warm welcome. Everything was perfect. We managed to park our motorcycles on the road opposite the property which we could see from our room window. Parking was free from 5pm - 9am and we where given a disc from 9am-11am which is when they needed to be moved til 5pm. All day Free parking was available at a car park close by. We will definitely return if we are ever in the area again.

On arrival the hotel was closed, a person answered the door and informed us the public areas of the hotel was closed. She said some people had been informed but we had received no information. Her primary concern was for us to make the payment. Then she told us if there was no staff in we should go across the road to the County Hotel. Somewhat reluctantly she helped us with a case and showed us the room. The room was cold and the heating hadn’t been switched on. We asked her help but she was unsure of how to rectify it.
In the toilet the towel rack was cold. When we came back at night we had to open the locked front door. The place was mostly in the dark and empty
Next day we discovered that the extractor fan in the windowless bathroom did not work, the cleaner admired it was out of order and wouldn’t be repaired for several days. However she moved us to another room which was an improvement. The chain fell off the.blind when we tried to close it.
We had to go to theCounty Hotel each morning for breakfast. On the morning of our departure one of the managers enquired about our stay. She said there were two staff members with a dog living in premises in the Coach and Horses hotel but we didn’t see them. No attempt was made to contact us.
The place in the evening was deserted and we did not feel safe.
Overall it was a very stressful experience especially as I am à recovering cancer patient.
We think we should receive a refund of at least 15% of £501.
