Perfect stay

I originally thought it would be a guesthouse quality in terms of cleanliness, but turned out it’s even cleaner than a hotel especially the bathroom. Everything looks new in the bathroom with a lot of towels available and the shower gel, shampoo etc. Reception is very nice and location is near bus stops where you can get to Edinburgh centre quite easily.

Fantastique. Propreté irréprochable, gentillesse de l'hôte, cuisine pour se faire à manger avec équipement complet, confort de la literie. De plus cet hébergement est situé à 150 mètres d'une station de tram venant directement de l'aéroport ou d'Edimbourg. Idéalement bien placé. Super.

Wonderful stay - would highly recommend

Really impressed with this place, especially for the very fair price we paid. Convenient location about 200 yards from tram stop. Really spacious room which had small kitchen facility as added bonus. Staff friendly and luggage storage helpful. Only gripe was that our shower in the en suite bathroom did not work v well

Clean and comfortable

Charming older building a short walk from coffee shops, restaurants and Edinburgh’s excellent tram network and public transit. The room was tidy and serviceable, staff was friendly and responsive, all at a great price point. It’s not the Omni, to be clear, but it’s a comfortable place to use for exploring Edinburgh. Do note that there are stairs to the rooms so keep accessibility in mind.

Nice stay

It was a good stay for one night.. we had to rush from the centre before 9 pm to avoid the late check in charge, which we cane to know only after booking! We did have a good night sleep. Breakfast is self catered. The kitchen facilitates were good. We were informed that TV channels didn’t work due to the work being carried out in the property. The property was not noisy 👍 It is well connected to the centre by a tram line just outside 👍 I’ll be happy to come back for a stay here again.

Four nights stay with my mom

Warm and welcoming. Excellent location, great value for money. Some roofing work going on but there was zero noise or disturbance whatsoever. The beds are super comfortable, and rooms silent, so we slept well. Second time staying here, will be coming back. Craig is lovely and helpful, and we got to leave our luggage at the hotel for the day after checkout so we could go to Portobello for we had a late flight. Oh and I could just see Arthur's Seat from the room window :)

Little gem

A little gem of a find. About 200 yards from the tram stop. Last minute booking due to train delays when we had to change our plans. The check in was great. Fridge in the room had been stocked with iron bru, water, milk, and breakfadt cakes. Lovely staff. Would certainly use this venue again.

Zona tranquilla e ben servita da pub, bar, supermercati e ristoranti. A disposizione l'utilizzo della cucina e snack inclusi trovati in camera. Ci torneremmo molto volentieri. Consigliato!

Not for everyone

I was using the property as a base for a two night stay. If you love your creature comforts this is not the place for you. However if you just want a bed at a very reasonable price in an historical building in a capital city this could be the place. Located close to the Port of Leith with a tram stop 200m from the property which gets you into the city centre in less than 20mins it is a great base to explore from.

The Pillars was located in a nice area with pubs and restraunts. It is close to the tram and neighborhood shops. The staff were great... they provided us with infomation on local activities, and quickly responded to any questions we had. Cosy room and a nice, fully-kitted kitchen to use Would definitely stay there again
