Great location in the CBD, I walked to the city market, KICC, and lots of restaurants. The staff at breakfast were friendly and actually called me one morning when they didn’t see me so as to check on me. Security guards were helpful and I felt safe as a solo traveller. I upgraded to the apartment over the studio for cheaper. Normal rates were $79 but I booked it for less. Arrived at 9pm and checked out by 11am (supposedly 10am is their normal check out time). It’s very walkable so on Sunday night, it looked dead. At 9am Monday morning, the whole area was popping. So the location is great. The room is average for Kenya and better than average bc the WiFi worked very well. Hot water? The desk told me to turn it on so it is strange by American standards but Kenya seems quite common. I did not use the kitchen or tv but the 1 bedroom apartment is plenty for 1-3 ppl unless you’re tall. The couch could barely fit me at 5’7 who napped for an hour. Overall, the bathroom is dated from the 1980s but it’s all good. I felt safe and the location is on point — I walked to an Ethiopian place with Afghan food (and halal goods) with so many local shops and a park nearby (5-15 minutes away).

Wir waren sowohl vor als auch nach unserer Safari im Chester. Die Zimmer sind wirklich groß und entsprechen der Beschreibung aber die Badezimmer insbesondere die Armatouren sind die reinste Katastrophe. Der service ist freundlich aber man muss, obwohl für zwei Personen gebucht, hinter der Ausstattung für die zweite Person hinterher telefonieren. Das Frühstück ist einfach Mega. Alles in allem o. K. um einen Zwischenstop einzulegen.

Ok, aber Potenzial nach oben

Da wir keine großen Ansprüche haben, war das Hotel durchaus ok. Der Poolbereich - wegen dem wir das Chester ausgewählt hatten - war allerdings recht enttäuschend. Zudem waren wir etwas irritiert, dass vieles nur für 1 Person vorgesehen war: 1 Dusch- und 1 Händehandtuch, 1 Tasse mit 1x Instantkaffee, 1 Wasser. Auf unsere Bitte hin haben wir zumindest ein zweites Duschhandtuch bekommen. In der letzten Nacht fehlte der Bettbezug (d.h. auf dem dünnen Laken zum Zudecken lag die nackte Bettdecke), das fanden wir etwas unhygienisch. Die Lage des Hotels ist gut geeignet für Westler, man fühlt sich sicher; direkt gegenüber befindet sich ein leckeres Restaurant.
