Absolutely phenomenal stay at the Red Horse. You will truly feel like family while staying here. It is a sanctuary and such a perfect respite during my incredibly long and exhausting trip across the country. This is a very unique property.. It is a family farm that is run by the daughter and grand daughter of the original owner. It is filled to the brim with family history and keepsakes. There is a story behind each item. The innkeeper is welcoming and full of stories about her family and her inn. They were very willing to make adjustments with early and/or late arrivals. Wonderful experience.

I just visited Red Horse for the second time this weekend. This place is an absolute oasis to visit. Impeccably clean rooms with gorgeously appointed bathrooms and all the touches of home. They make it easy to keep up with all the little fussy things that make a place feel like home: coffee (and cream in the room's mini refrigerator), a filtered water/ice refrigerator where I can fill my yeti cup for the day's outing. Anyone who maintains such beautiful quilts, antiques, and little decor touches is cleary taking EXCEPTIONAL pride in what they do. And Darlene and Phil and even long-term resident Carl are absolute gems. I waited to write a review until my second stay only because I had to skip breakfast the first time, but the food was spectacular, too. Green chile omlette, sausage, and the baking these people do!!! Freshly baked apple cake (made with home grown apples), plus peanut butter cookies for the road (last time they sent me off with apple cobbler!) Just a lovely experience all around.
