Overprized

Old hotel in need of refurbishment and updating. Weird system reg. car park. Room needs to be updated. Good location though. Overprized.
Joran, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Just a few blips when we got there but was sorted right away. Overpriced for the room we had but clean, and comfortable bed.
Lorraine Mary, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

Nice historic building and exterior. Nice and close to station. Good things end there. Paint in rooms is old and scuffed, with various marks on the walls and doors. Can hear everything happening in the hallways. Good water pressure, but temperature could only be described as lukewarm. Breakfast was average and not worth it.
George, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Clean, friendly staff. Bus route to Bowness and plenty of bars, shops & restaurants.
David, 1-night trip

Bed had springs that were broken, big cracks up the walls, didn’t seem clean really at all
Lauren, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Internet service was good, rooms were clean if a little dated, bar was not very well stocked, staff were friendly up until you wanted anything slightly out of the ordinary or had an issue, then they tried their best to ignore you or just tell you nothing could be done about it. In particular the parking, despite having to pay for 2 nights parking there was none available on the Saturday night and we were told to park in the layby down the road, but were still charged.
Andrew, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

A nice hotel , if a little dated inside. Could do with re decorating.
Andrew, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Fine for a budget stay

Basic room with my partner and my dog. There was drilling taking place early each morning and then moving furniture from another room. Both of which disturbed my dog. The room was cost effective and fine for what we paid for
3-night trip

8/10 Very good

The lift was out of order for the whole weekend. Should have been seen too. Breakfasts were very good.
David, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

It's in a perfect location right in the village. The lobby was nice and staff were friendly. The rooms are ok but could definitely use some upgrades. Mattresses were old, there were nearly no plugs, and we had two beetles in the room. Also, you have to pay for parking which feels like a bit of a scam.

Very good staff so helpful easy to approach very clean great place to stay
malcolm, 8-night trip

8/10 Very good

I’ve stayed in places far more expensive that were a lot worse. It’s by all means not the best place in the Lakes but the price you pay reflects what you get👍
Stuart, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

We paid £65 for a cosy room and for the price it is okay but wouldn't want to pay anymore. Walls and doors are thin so can hear every door slam and people talking. Shower wouldn't drain. Other than that is a good place for a one night stay and easy access to outside
1-night trip

4/10 Fair

The whole place is desperate for renewing

If you’re just looking for a bed and a shower, it’s fine. We stayed in the outbuilding and we found stains over the carpet; dirty floors, bathroom, walls and doors; curtains full of holes; outdated furniture, and the whole building full of damp. The staff were not knowledgeable at all. Everything was quite laughable.

The room seemed a bit old...
