First let me say as a life long Ventura resident I love that this motel is getting a beautiful update. The room was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The only thing that was missing was a coffee maker (but from what I saw on the website they have plans for a coffee area) and drinking glasses in the room. Everyone I spoke to was very nice and helpful.

Great place if visiting the National Park

Visited Channel Islands National Park for a few days with friends and this was the perfect location for us easily access the park, local beaches and restaurants. They are currently remodeling the outside but that didn’t effect us at all.

At first impression the area where the hotel is located didn’t look the best, but overall was very safe, relatively quiet and convenient. The recently remodeled room is nicely decorated, spacious and comfortable. The property still being renovated outside, but that wasn’t an issue for us. We had a good night sleep on the bed which was very comfortable the couple of nights we stayed. Things that I would suggest are replacing the duvet covers, which were clean, but very stained and paying a little more attention to the cleanliness of the room. Overall, the room appeared clean, but upon a more detailed inspection there were some stains on the floor, and the bathroom shower especially, needs more attention and a good scrub, since it had mold growing in corners and the grooves of it’s tiled floor. I would stay here again if my suggestions are implemented, as the rooms offer good value for the price.

Dont Judge a Hotel by its Exterior

The outside appearance of the property definetly does not match the rooms. The rooms as others have stated appear to be newly renovated, the outside of the property/parking lot, not so much. Some work on the outside would definetly elevate the staying experience here. Checking in is a little awkward because there is glass between you and the front desk so it makes the communication a bit difficult and makes the overall property feel less it might not be in a safe area. Overall this was a nice place to stay for a single night assuming you arent looking for anything more than a nice comfortable room.
