I stay in Newbury a lot. I definitely won’t be staying here again. Dirty small rooms, stains on the bedding, clearly not cleaned. Paid for breakfast and asked for boiled or poached eggs. Was told that isn’t possible, they can only do scrambled or fried. Much better places to stay in Newbury

Ths staff were very nice, the room overlooking the car park is very noisy and randomly the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night 3 times during my 5 night stay. The restaurant is very nice though with good service. But i won't stay there again.

Lovely hotel - a bit out of the way if you're not going to the races, but easy enough to find with a car. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice food in the restaurant. Very comfy bed and quiet surroundings. Would recommend.

The rooms were very clean but the bathrooms needs a bit of a spruce up. The staff were absolutely lovely. From reception to the bar, everyone was really kind and helpful. The bar was comfortable and we enjoyed sitting there in the evening.

Check in was quick. Since i prepaid, i was handed the key. Staff did not request my credit card for incidentals. We had to walk through a series of fire doors (maybe 6?) and stairs to reach our first floor room. The room was small and worn. The bedding appeared dirty. The window was open a crack and could not be closed, so it was cold inside the room. I was able to turn up the heat so that was okay. The carpet was worn and thin. Bathroom was extremely cramped. The shower was very small and could use some caulk repairs. The shower had good pressure and nice hot water. It appeared that daily housekeeping did not do any cleaning aside from making the bed, emptying trash, and replacing towels. This was fine with me because it was a short stay and I kept things clean. Because the window was ajar, we heard workmen on the grounds starting fairly early in the morning. I did not visit the restaurant/bar. Overall, this stay was below average, but the location was perfect for my needs and the price was very low.
