5 stars is not good enough for this wonderful property. Everything about it is scrumptious. Huge rooms beautifully outfitted, lovely public spaces, and a perfect location in the village.
We hope we can return some day.

6/10 Good

The property and rooms are beautiful and in a lovely location. The pool was clean and warm. Breakfast had the potential to be good, but was overpriced. Bread was stale one morning and there was not enough food as the kitchen was short-staffed. But, we were not charged for breakfast that morning as recompense, which we appreciated. In general, there may have just been some rusty edges to the service as we visited on the hotel's first weekend of the season. Also, this isn't the most important thing in the world, but I had emailed ahead of time indicating that my daughter would be celebrating her 3rd birthday while at the hotel. The email went unacknowledged, and we didn't receive any sort-of card, or extra bedtime chocolate etc. Again, this isn't necessarily expected, but we had spent the previous night at a Hampton Inn at the airport and they noticed my daughter's upcoming birthday on her passport and brought over a special waffle with whipped cream at breakfast. If a EUR 110/night airport Hampton Inn acknowledges something like that, I would hope for at least a "happy birthday" at check-in from a place like Hotel de Bouilhac.

the problem is the property was listed on Expedia as an "upscale spa" with a long list of spa amenities. but, it's not a spa at all. they give you a brochure for a spa across the bridge and down a few blocks that you can book with. when i brought this up with the manager, Delphine, she blamed it on Expedia. After my complaint the misleading listing and description was all changed. besides this, the hotel is quite nice, great rooms, friendly staff and a nice onsite independently run restaurant.

We had the most delicious lunch at Ro Bo, the hotel's restaurant which is on a par with a Michelin-starred establishment. The hotel manager was very friendly and gave us lots of great recommendations for things to do during our stay, including visiting the nearby Lascaux Caves. Our room was beautiful and quiet, and the air conditioning was perfectly set, which was great for catching up on sleep. We would come back here in a heartbeat!

Beautiful Hotel
Beautiful hotel & rooms. Parking right outside the hotel. Room was beautiful but missing a few things like water, coffee machine & chairs for relaxing in.
€8 for 2 coffee’s is pretty expensive, as is €12 for a small cocktail.

This place was so beautiful. When we arrived, the staff was nice and welcoming. The rooms were also spacious with great views. We had a plumbing issue in our first room and they promptly moved us to another room with an even better view. It's perfect if you're looking for a quiet getaway. And the pool had just opened, which was also wonderful. All around a great property and I hope to go back one day!

Fifteenth century manor house on the river in Marignac, restored and tastefully converted to a ten room boutique hotel, with elegant salons, pleasant terraces, excellent restaurant and charming staff. They are adding a spa and swimming pool. Gorgeous place in a delightful village. Very convenient to Lascaux IV. I would return with pleasure.

We really loved our stay at this hotel! The hotel is so historic and beautiful! Our room was clean, spacious, and had cold air conditioning! The housekeeping service was excellent. The front desk staff were so helpful to us and we appreciated them very much. We did not eat at the hotel but walked to several very good restaurants and cafes. Parking was right in front of the hotel. The town is so walkable and just lovely. We visited both Lascaux II and IV and well as other historical sites and they were all a short drive from the hotel. We were gone for six weeks in total through Spain, France, and Italy, including a transatlantic cruise and our stay at this hotel and the entire experience of visiting the caves was our highlight of the entire trip. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone!!!!

Luxury without the stuffy
Unexpected luxury in the heart of Dordogne. You could feel the grandeur and history of the hotel. Tastefully preserved with all the modern comforts. Plus a close walk to the medieval town and riverside.
We booked the suite, a perfect escape for our family of 4 (plus a toddler). The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The restaurants was special, with a unique deluxe menu of local foods/wines. We sadly didn’t try the pool or spa, but would definitely recommend all the amenities.
