Great service, very comfortable room. Food was excellent with good size portions and reasonably price. Great breakfast. I would 100% recommend Winchelsea Lodge.

Breakfast was very good.
Peter, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Good for a short stay

All in all, the hotel is okay. It's getting a bit long in the tooth, and I would describe the facilities as rather basic overall. Room service is only provided when required. Breakfast is okay.
Oliver, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

The staff were excellent and did a great job with a smile regardless of the fact they were short staffed. The room was ok overall, clean and comfortable. The bathroom is a wet room which is fine however mould in the grout lines was taking hold, probably due to being short staffed. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again. (For a third visit)
Mark, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Lovely place . All I would say is our room needed a bit of a spruce up. Staff lovely . Food really good . Some of the paint work was chipped the blind was broken etc
Laura, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

The staff and owner made our stay memorable, their attention to making sure their customers needs were met, the rooms were very clean, the restaurant menu was very good and was freshly cooked. This is an ideal place for artists and bird watchers the view from the room is unbelievable, also the bird life sight and sound is brilliant. Can't recommend the Lodge enough. There are places

Lovely quiet stay, the staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. Great breakfasts.
Ondre, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

My friend and I stayed here as Rye was too expensive. Check is a strict 3pm doors shut. The accommodation was ok. Felt a bit tired but good value for money with a breakfast. Beds and linen comfortable and clean - bathroom a bit tired and shower had no pressure. Overall no complaints for the price of the room. Grounds need a bit of attention.
1-night trip

6/10 Good

Disappointed

Not sure i would class the accommodation as 4*, more like 3*. Room ok, fairly comfortable but small, room and bathroom could do with a bit of a makeover. But shower was rather pathetic-it dribbled water out and was barely warm. Breakfast was ok but nothing special. What was the biggest disappointment was the use of the owner's establishment to put across his political viewpoint. Various signs and statements around the place were very off-putting as not everyone shares the same point of view and certainly do not want this thrust upon your face while on holiday. Therefore would not be returning.
1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Comfortable and good location

The bedroom was spacious and clean. On the downside the bathroom was tired looking and the shower control not working so very hot water. Could not use.
R, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Warm, cosy and very comfortable accommodation with exceptional breakfast included. Highly recommended.
Ruari, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

The en-suite bathroom was the worst I have ever seen. This hotel does not deserve a 4-star rating
Clive, 3-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

My room was nice and clean with a very comfy bed. The bathroom needed a lick of paint but was perfectly serviceable. Breakfast was superb!
