This was our first experience staying at a Ryoken and using an onsen. We loved the experience. The room was quite small and basic but it was exceptionally clean and met all of our needs. The level of service was top notch. I can safely say that I have never experienced that high level of service in my life. We enjoyed both the dinner and breakfast meals they offered. We felt they were good value and an interesting tasty cultural experience. Takayama itself was a beautiful quiet little town that was a welcome break from the intense hyper urban cities we stayed at in Japan. Takayama and Ryokan Seiryu were highlights of our visit to Japan and we enthusiastically recommend them both.

次も泊まりたい宿でした

部屋はこじんまりとしていて、少し窮屈感がありました。古さもあるため、畳が歪んでいるのがわかるほどでした。 だけど、食事はとても美味しく、部屋でとることができました。揚げたての天ぷら、お鍋料理など、食べる時間や頃合いをみて、順々に出してもらえたため、どの品もとても美味しくいただかことができました。 お風呂はすずめの湯というだけあり、大浴場でも小さめでしたが混雑することはなく、また、近隣にある系列ホテルの大浴場＆露天風呂も入れるということもありよかったです。 観光地もすぐそばだし、正午まで車を預かってもらえるため、大変助かりました。 また泊まりに行きたい宿です。

Excellent Japanese style ryokan

We had an amazing stay at this Ryokan, we loved the tatami Mat floor and the unique culture of a ryokan stay. note you will stay on futons on the floor and they are hard and thin and you will have the bean pillows but we loved all these traditional features. The basic Kaiseki dinner went above and beyond our expectations, so delicious and had some local Hida beef as well as sashimi and all types of other dishes. It was such a great experience, and I loved being served dinner in the room. I can not recommend enough!

Certainly an experience! Staff lovely and friendly and good to experience a more traditional Japanese style Inn. Hard to adjust to such a confined space for dinner and sleeping and the general older decor and style is a bit stark and unwelcoming inside the rooms but perfectly fine for one night. 少し歩い所にある姉妹ホテルの温泉で源泉を経験できた一方、旅館の温泉は狭かったものの、肌がつるつるになったのには驚いた。源泉ではないが、飛騨の湯とのこと。シャンプーも好きな香り、化粧水もよかったし、清潔だった。入浴後のオレンジ、レモンの水のサービスもうれしく、ほっとできた。 夕食は、おいしく、食の細い母もほとんど食べられた。私は元々牛肉が好きではなかったのだが、こちらの飛騨牛のステーキは驚きのおいしさで、すっかり牛が好きになった。飛騨牛のランプステーキはあまりに印象的だった。

子連れファミリーが多い感じだったので安心して滞在できました。 お風呂は小さめですが、時間帯で貸切状態になりました。ベビーソープも置いてあり親切でした。 ただ壁が薄いのか、子供の泣き声がうるさいと苦情が入ったようで気を遣いながらの滞在になりました。お宿は悪くないですが少し残念でした。
