Just passing thru Gaylord and needed a place for one night (Friday). Easy booking with Expedia, check in was fast and efficient with friendly staff! Location was right in center of business district which made for easy dinner, gas up and extra supplies from grocery store. Facility is older but owners have it well maintained. Plenty of parking room! I will use this travel lodge again!!!

This was the Holiday Inn and Holidome i stayed at back in the 80s. Pretty much as I remember except for changes over the years. Pool, hot tub, sauna area is beautiful and like the Holidome I remember from my youth. Room was similar to back then and very clean and the bed was perfect and amazingly comfortable. Needs minor cosmetic attention and could use a picture on one of the walls. All in all, a wonderful place to stay in Gaylord, especially given the price I got the room thru Expedia!

The place is getting repaired due to the recent storm but it’s the cheapest place around Gaylord. The room is clean and the owner is very polite with your requests.

Not a complete disappointment

The hotel needs some TLC. Great indoor swimming pool area. Lots of room for swimming & room for kids to play. The man checking you out was also cleaning the rooms. The Wi-Fi didn't work most of the time. I used a different Wi-Fi.

Too expensive for its condition it is in

The hotel looks like it was really nice in the past. Center area is very nice. Room needs repairs with paint hanging from the ceiling around the bathroom. The housing around the air conditioner fell off, TV remote didn’t work properly overall too expensive for the condition it’s in.
Bathroom ceiling
Paint chipping and needing repair

Okay place to sleep.

It wasn't terrible. Could definitely use better upkeep. No vending machines or working ice machine. No breakfast offered. Carpet was very old and stained. Bedding was clean. Might as well be considered a motel because there was no "hotel" amenities.

We will be back!

The hotel was under some upgrades but still a very nice place to stay the staff are very polite and we had no problems with our room or service! The pool area is indoor and was nice. The hot tub didn't work but they did send us an email before vacation which i thought was nice. They will probably have it fixed soon they said. We had lake plans anyways so no bother to us! The hotel was is walking distance from the bars/food so that was nice and there are some nice people in gaylord michigan!

The person at the desk checking us in and out was great! The stairway carpet was dirty. The bed was comfortable. The room needs some updating. The tub is peeling. There are nicks and dings in the furniture. There was no blow dryer.

The building was in poor condition. The drapes on windows were unhooked and hanging haphazard. The was no coffee in lobby. The ice machine was not working. The staff at the desk was very friendly, efficient and polite. The roses around the building were very pretty.

It took nearly 1.5 hour to finally get my room key, and by then, the initial excitement of arriving had turned into frustration. They were understaffed or facing technical issues, but whatever the cause, this part of the experience was disappointing. Once I was finally settled in, the room and amenities were great, and the rest of my stay went smoothly. However, the lengthy check-in left a negative first impression. I hope the hotel improves this aspect for future guests, as it’s an important part of the overall experience.

Would not stay here again

Right at check in there was a computer issue. The doors were wide open to the lobby and it was stuffy and stale smelling. Pool, hot tub and breakfast service were unavailable but this was not noted at reservation. We did receive an email after reservation stating the hot tub was waiting on an element and was running cooler than usual. But the hot tub was empty. The pool was green. In one room the bathroom door had been painted so many times it no longer closed. The bathtub drains in 2 rooms were very very slow and there were no plugs. The staff was friendly and apologetic and changed a room for us right away when we discovered a serious drain clog. We would not recommend this hotel.

We will NEVER stay here again. Just walking into the lobby was DARK, freezing cold, cracks all over the walls and cieling tiles molded, broke or hanging right down. There was a very strong odor just walking into the hotel. The staff was kind and helpful, but not nearly enough of them. Sadly it sounds like the newest owners bit off much more than they could chew with this hotel. We picked it based on location and great amenities, but come to find out on arrival the hot tub is empty and has been broken for over a month, the pool was quite yellowish-green, the restaurant and breakfast offered and advertised have been permanently closed. The smell continued all the way down the halls to our room along with constant stains everywhere, walls included. We finally get into our room and find am elder women half dressed already occupying the room. Another 30min later finally get another room to find tore up carpet, stained/smelly carpet, a spider web covered curtians and window that was duct taped shut. Literal crqcks and holes in the wall. We found multiple clumps of black hair in the shower/bathtub. The room was very rough. We were passing through town and couldnt find availability at any of the other local hotels so were in a bad position needing a place to just sleep at this point. We contacted Wyndham regarding this location and the very large amount of angry people lined up outside the lobby door at 9pm complaining of the conditions and demanding either a refund or different room

Staff were generally nice. That’s the only plus. Entirety of property was the worst hotel I’ve ever been in in the country. Charged a premium price for an unacceptable condition of property. My bed, pillows, table, and microwave had mouse droppings and urine all over. The A/C unit is from the 80s/90s and spit out burnt chunks of who knows what throughout the night and had the temperature knob broken off. The toilet was not mounted to the flange at all and felt like a balancing act to use the restroom. Mold and peeling ceiling throughout the bathroom and foyer ceiling. Exposed wiring under hot plate that’s against electrical code and poses a significant fire and electrocution hazard. Cut hazards all throughout with exposed jagged metal on tile trim, A/C unit enclosure, and wooden vanity had splintered edges. Plenty of minor disappointments as well to include no ice machine, elevator not working, poorly lit reception are, no remote for TV, no trash can, no spare linens to replace the stained and mouse-soiled bed linens (thankfully I packed a pillow and blanket for my trip), poorly sealed door allowing noise and light all night, and half used toiletries in the bathroom. I expect a poor experience when I spend $50-60 on a hotel, but I paid $160 for my bird dog and I to get some sleep on our way home. Absolutely unacceptable conditions and I’m sure I won’t receive a refund, given it seems no one else has. Do not stay here.

The room was clean and comfortable, but the hallways were a disaster ready for demolition. The carpets were severely stained and not vacuumed in a long while. The walls and doors marked dented. I was ready to go elsewhere when we opened the door to the hallway. but decided to stay because it was late and at lease our room was clean. I did move my car to a spotlight and a camera worried something might happen.

The room I reserved and paid for wasn’t available (and the hotel was definitely NOT busy). The room was filthy and in desperate need of repair. Woke up to ants crawling on the entertainment center. Take a look at the photos - not at all what was represented by Hotels.com.
