Needs some TLC

Friendly staff arranged late check-in on the day which I appreciated. Cool concept but inside the pods are a bit worse for wear, mine had dirt in the all corners & the stickers/posters were peeling off, also smelled a bit damp. Floor of the room was dirty. Bedding was clean but hard floor of the pod was quite uncomfortable to sleep on. Really weird cleaning schedule too - the lady came in around 10-11pm & obviously made noise so that was quite disruptive to sleep. Overall just needs better upkeep & maybe some refurbishment but it’s a good alternative to a hostel.

Central location good..noisy, sounds travel and some people do not consider others while conversing at 3am.

It was unique stay while I stayed there in a strange way I felt like I was in space. It's unique in its own away and probably the only space theme hotel you'll find that's why I like it so much.

If you like the smell of lingering foot odour in a capsule and lousy little air vents as aircon, then this is the place for you. Cheap desperate cheap. Never again

It was nice and well maintained but it was noisy and scary sometimes.

A Filthy Experience

I stayed in the Space Q for 2 nights, knowing full well that for the price it was not going to be a luxury experience. What I didn't expect though was the filthy state that the toilets and showers were in. All 3 toilets were leaking, not cleaned, paper missing etc. The showers were very dirty as well, with leftover bars of soap and underwear strewn everywhere on the floor! There was no soap in the dispenser in the shower I used. Good thing I took my own bar of soap. The capsules have an incredibly thin mattress. I did not expect a lot, however I struggled to sleep given the mattress was so uncomfortable, as was the tiny pillow. There is no top sheet on the mattress, only a base sheet, and there are not blankets. It was 30 degrees in Sydney and once it cooled down, it was actually cold during the night. There is a fan in the capsule, but no heating. I resorted to sleeping in my clothes the second night as I was so cold. Never again.

Cool but needs more money put into decor quality. It has tonnes of potential

Great experience. The first feeling in the capsule is weird but after one night very cool. They have place for chilling upstairs. They helped me to let my luggage there even after checking for 6 hours, because my flight was in the evening. Big thank you.

Value for money, you get what you pay for. Good for a single traveller looking for somewhere warm and safe to sleep in the heart of the Sydney CBD. Please note: Not for claustrophobics or anyone in any way uncomfortable with confined spaces!

Not worth it.

Not worth it. Bathrooms are unclean, showers don’t lock. Mattress is about 2cm of foam so you’re practically sleeping on the floor. Hotels.com we’re incredibly helpful with lodging a complaint but the property itself did not entertain the process.

Very clean capsule and surrounds. Helpful staff. The sink in the bathroom is small so water pressure can easily result in spills on floors, don't know solution. Observed the manager speak positively and respectfully to staff, all of whom have a great attitude, explaining the concept of capsules patiently to this middle aged guest.

Toilets pretty disgusting - urine on floor, smelly, blocked basin, cramped & flimsy construction.

Great location at a cost

Convenient and well located. Pods a little dirty and didn't come with a sheet, bathrooms/ toilets had huge holes and mould on the ceiling. Stayed with friends and some of our pods had the 'sleep mode' function broken, and one had broken lights that were unable to be switched off to sleep.

The location was prime as it was very close to Market City and had some great food options. It was also close to a light rail station and not far from Central so it was easy to jump on the coach back home. I didn't like how small the cubicles were in the bathrooms and just the general smell of the place? It wasn't pleasant. Thankfully my capsule was clean but lockers were not nearly big enough for my bag and seemed like a lot of people had the same issue as there were bags everywhere. In terms of placement in the city and all the things around it, very accessible, highly recommend. In terms of the facilities there, it's a meh.

A hole on steroids !

Don’t stay there on da floor with thin old smelly mattress that is guaranteed to break your neck and back in da morning,. Bathroom is disgusting and shower is for animals and toilet can’t fit inside. My recommendation is stay on a hard bench @ Central Station, or park. At least you keep your money and wake up feeling great !!

Very bad!!! Absolutely no security, Card key opens every cube and door. The mixed smell of mould and bleach is unbearable. Arrived clean and left dirty!!!! Book at your own risk as they don’t do refunds!!!

The quality of stay depends on roommates I would say which is totally on your luck. The person above me snored all night, and on my 2 nd day late night a group of ppl kept talking in the room. You will hear those noises. Also unfortunately I encountered a roach at the shower room..

Pros: It was really cool pretending I was in a spaceship! It is in a great location , very close to central, Chinatown, Paddy’s, and not far from George st/Pitt st for shopping. The staff member I dealt with was good and the check in/check out process was easy. Cons: The bathrooms were gross, they need a proper clean. The mattress wasn’t very comfortable. Their website says that there are power points inside the capsules but mine didn’t have any, only USBs.

Never tried capsule before. The idea is great. But you can hear people talk and some alarm was going of. Every move the neighbors make you can here. So take some earplugs with you. I liked the capsule, was clean but the panel was loose and some functions didn’t work. Toilets, sinks and showers all small but functional and compared to other hostels clean.

PROS: The staff here is amazing and is truly helpful! I enjoyed my capsule, it was nice and provided some conveniences within it. I also enjoyed having a full kitchen with access to cookware, refrigerators, spices, etc. The chill room is also convenient with large couches, tables, games, billiards, etc. Finally, the location is perfect. It’s central Sydney with easy access to everything from light rails, trains, and buses, to restaurants, shopping, groceries, convenience stores, bars/pubs, alcohol shops, markets, etc. CONS: Not so much the hotel’s fault but it’s communal living and some people are just gross and thus the place can get dirty. Noise is also an issue. The gambling place next door is also a club and pub, they make plenty of noise from 5pm-10pm. There is also an annoying bird species that lives nearby. Additionally with noise, the light rail directly out front runs almost all night, so that can be a bit loud too. You will also hear the many drunks that frequent the Main Street during the weekends and sometimes weekdays.
