I cannot stress enough how much I loved our stay! The public baths are BEYOND anything I could have imagined. We stayed for 2 nights, and I used the facilities 4 times! They are also tattoo friendly! The rooms are adorable and are cleaned daily. The staff was very helpful and there was really no issue with the language barrier. I wish I could stay in this place honestly, FOREVER! I cannot recommend ENOUGH!!:)

Such a fun stay. The room was cleaned each day of our stay and the amenities were so wonderful. Not a far walk from a train station and there were a handful of restaurants a short walk away. The best value for a hotel and onsen in Kyoto. We loved the restaurant and bathhouse. Nothing better than walking 30k steps and coming back to this hotel to relax in the spacious rooms, hot bath and tea room. Staff is friendly. It's a bit out of the way, and a decent walk from any train station, but the 8 minute walk from station to front door is worth every step.

If you are looking for a ryokan, this is the place! Amazing service and great location near bus and train stations. The onsen was amazing and tattoo friendly. They even had a cold tub (perfect for the summer or after the sauna). I was worried to sleep ryokan style bed, but it was actually the most comfortable of the trip!

My daughter and I stayed here for one night and stayed in the Japanese style room. It was very comfortable and we had the traditional breakfast in the morning. The food was ok it wasn't to my daughters liking, but I enjoyed mine. The only negative I could say is that Expedia did not inform us of the extra $90CAD we had to pay for the Tourist Tax. Apart from that the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is very clean and well maintained.
