Food is excellent and beds are very comfy. It's old-fashioned in that it's a conversion of an older building, so windows are single-glazed and the doors open with actual keys. But the rooms have everything you'd expect from a professionally run establishment. Staff are all friendly and professional though you sometimes have to seek them out – hardly surprising as there are only six rooms so they can't have someone permanently on duty.

We had a lovely stay at Picton House Hotel. The staff and food was lovely. Didn't sleep too good as the bed wasn't comfortable. ROOM 3 Would definitely stay again though but just in a different room.

Had an overnight stay for a birthday party. Very friendly staff, room was spotlessly clean and very up to date. Great shower. Lots of tea, coffee and chocolate drinks and water in room complimentary. Buffet was amazing and breakfast was delicious.

The staff were very friendly. In fact, after breakfast we got a tour of another room that had recently been remodeled and looked at many photos of the whole structure’s renovation. Very interesting. Our cozy room’s ensuite had recently been upgraded with interesting fixtures such as a mirror with touch controls for light and anti-fog, and a toilet with touch-swipe control dual flush. The bar is a popular place for locals. Our dinner in their restaurant was excellent, as was our breakfast.

Superb secret hideaway - great for dogs

What a delightful place to stay in Carmarthenshire. We took our dog with us and the room could not have been more to our liking. We booked the deluxe double (Room 6) which is sizeable for a couple with a dog. The hotel was spotless throughout and especially the rooms. Ever surface had been cleaned with no dust at all. We arrived a little earlier than expected and there was someone ready to great us with a smile. We were shown to our room which was upstairs and at the end of a short passage. I would advise travellers using the Picton to book ahead for an evening meal. The food standard was excellent with a great choice on the menu. Breakfast comprised cereal, juice and a choice of cooked breakfast. Plenty of parking space available. The owners also put on entertainment and during our stay Owen Money was there. If you wish to attend these events book ahead. All in all a superb place to stay and we will definitely be back.

We loved our stay at this beautiful little inn. It's on a peaceful little road and the hotel was very quiet. We had a fantastic dinner and prices were very reasonable. Breakfast was also delicious. In addition, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Nice location but not good service and grotty

Room and hotel in general has hundreds of flies all over. Windows full of mould. Mattress was probably the most uncomfortable one I have ever slept on. Also the owner had a serious attitude problem. Was passive aggrrsssive and very false and fake. It’s a shame as the place is in a beautiful location. Just seems to enjoy getting drunk with friends and looked as though serving customers was getting in the way of their social gatherings. Very bizarre.
