Julia’s is a great spot. However it’s not for everyone. The bar Nextdoor has music every night. It didn’t bother me but be aware. The rooms could use some updating. Shelly the on sight manager couldn’t have been nicer. Julia’s is in the middle of the village, which makes it great for walking. I will be going back

Julia’s Cabanas is a great place on the beach in Placencia. The AC is cold and necessary in May. The bed/sheets/pillows are really good. Shelly is the best. She has great communication and cares about her guests. She is attentive and happy to be of service. She is such an asset to the property.

Rundown shack on the beach. I realize this was a budget hotel; however, it didn't have even basic amenities I would expect from a motel 6. No electrical outlets in the bathroom, only 1 lightbulb in the cabana for light and weak WIFI. it also had water-stained ceilings and was in poor condition overall. Also, the WIFI in the cabana was very weak. I checked out early due to the condition of the cabana and the noise from the two bars next to the hotel. Never again. Spend a little more money to stay in a real hotel.

Shelly and Taj who took care of us during our days was amazing. Hospitality was high and with Shelly and Taj:s engagement it became a warm feeling. Juila's is situated right in the middle of the activities on the walk and is right on the beach. It is a very rustic property but is now needing many repairs. If there was anything we needed, it was swiftly dealt with. The grounds were immaculate. It's location next to a bar with music could be a hindrance for some but we loved it. Lots of varity of food options and shopping.

Our cabana was right on the beach. (#6 ?) away from the bar) These are rustic & sweet. The bar can be noisy. I knew this in advance. I always travel with ear plugs. AC worked. Shelley, the manager, was helpful and friendly. The parking lot is located across from the Police Station on the Placencia Road, and the cabanas are a short walk down the cement sidewalk. Lots of restaurants and bars are within walking distance.

Excellent location and decent basic room (Room 3) but lack of natural ventilation (transparent plastic films on windows blocking the breeze). Both the AC and the fan are loud, like VERY loud. And the AC is pretty ineffective due to all the air leaking everywhere. Overall we had a nice stay, I just feel the price is high for that level of comfort.

The staff was great, and the location was superb. There were several places to buy gives, food, and there were a few markets near-by. The shower had hot water (which was a nice change of pace for us). The one thing problematic was the air-conditioner. During the day, it didn't keep the room sufficiently cool; we brought this to the attention of management, but there was nothing they could do about it except offer a refund. Otherwise things were fine. The staff did her best to accommodate us, and we are grateful.

Find someplace else to stay.

Pros - The staff was very courteous, helpful, and friendly. Two of the cabanas face directly onto the beach, the rest are only steps away. They have an onsite laundry. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. Cons - Granted I only saw one cabana, the one I stayed in. But if it was any example, then this place is a dump. While they have a prime location on the beach, and the exterior of the cabanas look nice, the interior was terrible! At some point they removed an interior wall...the groove in the floor where the wall stood was partially filled in with crooked, misaligned and mismatched tiles, and the rest was filled in with concrete. The bathroom and kitchen "cabinets" were built of 2x4 studs, and they were not stained or painted, just bare wood. The bathroom and shower was in disrepair, the toilet rocked on its base. IMO, the owners are taking their profit and not even trying to invest any money into making improvements. That is certainly their perogative. With the prime oceanside location, if they would fix the place up, they could probably ask more money. As it is now...go stay somewhere else. This place is cheap...and it's cheap. There are much better options in town, even on the beach, for not much more money. The only way I would stay here again is if there was nothing else available. Seriously folks...show some pride in your property and fix it up.
