Good location for walking into Durham city. Good carpark on site. Room clean but very hot even without radiator on. Could possibly be noisey in high season as our room over main entrance and smoking area. Staff friendly and attentive. Food adequate. Seemed very pet friendly, ideal for guests with dogs. Website said there is a safe located in the bedrooms, there was no safe in our room.

The place is clean but is like early 19th Century Inn. Its my more like qn elderly care home. All guests were elderly folks. They also allow dogs, so if you're allergic or not pet person this place isn't for you. The furniture in room was ordinary and there were no tissue provided in the room. They close the main door around 11pm and you then have to pay extra £25 to check-in. There checkout time also very early 10:30 am. The most disappointing part was their breakfast (prepaid). Few finger sized crossents, bread, juice and black coffee etc. When asked for latte they said, I have to pay extra for a proper coffee. No eggs, or sausages, or anything usual. A bit weired experience overall.

The hotel / bar staff were very helpful and friendly. Really good selection of food cooked to order. Plenty of onsite parking. Most importantly for us the hotel is extremely dog friendly. The walk into Durham city centre is approximately 10 minutes. We would stay here again and recommend.

A lovely friendly place to stay. Staff were excellent. Only a short walk from the city centre meaning we could park our car for free and leave it for the length of our stay. Evening meal was tasty and cheese and onion pie was plentiful. We didn't have a cooked breakfast but what we had was good .

Kingslodge Inn is a lovely English country inn conveniently located near Durham train station and bus station. The room is spacious and comfortable, and the bar & restaurant offer great good in a cozy environment. Just note that there isn't an elevator; I had to carry my big suitcase one floor up.
