Very old and rustic. Several live spiders in the bed, not a huge deal, very old, plumbing rigged together, loud window unit AC, place was fine for the night, nothing to get excited about. Check in was manual key box, had to call to get live person to come to let us into stand alone room. Price point should be about $40 less. Overall okay.

Nice pet-friendly spot and close to dining options in Alpine. We enjoyed a two night stay. I cannot rate staff as we never encountered a staff member. We used a lock box to access and return our room key. It’s about an hour and 45 minutes to the heart of Big Bend National Park, but the drive is lovely. Our only issue was that the shower did not work on our second day; it worked just fine our first morning there. If you are like fancy digs, this is not the place for you but, overall, we truly enjoyed our stay.

Appreciate walking into the smell of clean. Cute concept with the vintage vibe. Beds are super comfy . You have hot shower amd a new working heat and AC system. All the important things to make a cozy stay. Understand when you rent that these are old and primitive buildings , but have everything you need to sleep cozy. Also, bring house shoes and leave your shoes at the door to avoid tracking in devil thorns . This just comes with TX visits.

Do not let the pictures fool you! I stayed for 8 days and had to leave for a job site at 8 am. Because the office wasn’t open until 9 am, and the hanging card to request maid service was missing it wasn’t until the 3rd day that I was able to get to the office to request a tag and tell the manager about the conditions below. Pros Low rate New appliances. Cons Dust and dirt on floors, walls, entry door, and walls. Thorns in rugs. Toe or fingernail clippings were on the room floor when I arrived. After maid service, some grime on the floor, the pubic hair that was embedded in urine around the toilet, a dirt on the entry door and blinds that were all present when I arrived, still remained. WiFi was so slow that photos in web pages took minutes to load. I am a person who doesn’t get upset when things aren’t spic and span, and my partner is almost as forgiving as I am. I was relieved that she wasn’t with me. Lastly, my stay was from Monday before Easter through the following Monday. Only a small fraction of the cottages had vehicles present on any given day, so there was plenty of time for my unit to be properly cleaned.
