Clean, rustic and comfy

Despite our late arrival and short stay, we found the Northern Sky Lodge to be a clean, simple, and rustic stop on our self-directed travel in AK. The breakfast and common areas were very well organized and accommodating. Beds clean and comfy. Wish we could have been there on a clear night.

The breakfast was fine but never saw the owner/Staff and had to try to figure out how to make coffee because it had run out and they didn't seem to check on anything after they set up for the morning. I finally did figure it out but with no instructions. Need to check on their supplies and stock of food for breakfast.

Shared cabin style with beautiful property!

This lodge was a shared space cabin style but also quite private. Private bathroom and sleeping area. Shared dining, living room and kitchen. Our fav part was the gorgeous cabin kitchen breakfast laid out on pretty rustic dishes. It is off the beaten path and not touristy. We felt like we were being hosted by friends. Gorgeous property too.

Quality stay!

First thing I noticed, mosquitoes (crazy amount in our room). Otherwise, this place is great! Very nice, friendly hosts, nice breakfast, super comfy bed and hot shower. Lived everything about this place but the crazy amounts of mosquitoes and distance from town (which may be a plus for some).

This was a small lodge off the highway. Everything was pretty much self serve no host interaction unless you request it. We met a very nice couple in the main dining room/great room and we exchanged tips on our travels. That was our social interactions for the night. Slept comfortably for a night stay.

Amazing property. At first when you enter into the woods, it seems a little strange. But when you get to the property and get into your room, it is extremely clean and cozy. There's a deck that overlooks the mountains and it is extremely peaceful. We sat there in the morning before heading out, and it was the perfect way to start the day with nature.

Log cabin building in the middle of the forest. Nice facility with a shared kitchen. Tranquil surrounding with a lot of birding opportunities. Room needs better lighting and ventilation. There is no exhaust fan or operable window.

Hotels.com info sucks again

Once again hotels.com has false information. This was a hostel. You share a bathroom with 4 rooms. 1 toilet, 1 shower. Had I known this, I would not have booked. Other than that the place was cute and clean.

We arrived late in the evening. There was a printout letting me know what room I was in. My room was comfortable the bathroom did does need to have the knob fixed but otherwise it was lovely. The beds were so comfortable as were the pillows. The bath towels were nice, big and soft. There was a nice shelving unit in the closet, which allowed for setting things nicely. I would definitely stay here and again and have already bragged to others about how much I enjoyed my stay. I would definitely recommend this property. :)
