Rainbow Bend Resort

10/10 Excellent

"Lovely vintage motel/apartments. Built in 1969 but remodeled. We stayed in a 2/2 with kitchen. Full sized refrigerator, sink, gas 4 burner stove top, microwave and nice counter space. Both bathrooms had showers and nice sized sink with vanity. Comfortable pull out love seat in living/dining area. Nice beach chairs with umbrellas on Oceanside. No beach but a beautiful view! Last but not least the staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast very good."

"Let’s start by saying I gave them months in advance that we were coming and plans and they managed to not fulfill their part of the deal. I paid for extra amenities to be delivered to the room before we got there for my in-laws 52nd anniversary. they fixed it still charged me ice machine didn’t work neither the vending machine, which would’ve been cheaper to buy a soda out of the machine every once in a while, a good way to make sure you go to the bar and spend way more money the Customer Service in the café store unbelievably terrible the weight staff all, but one gentleman had no compassion or care didn’t understand the food we were ordering and please don’t expect to sit outside in the morning when others are outside eating and get service that’s a bad idea. Don’t sit in a table without a menu you won’t get service for some reason. They don’t put menus on the tables if you’re sitting there in the morning waiting for service when you do go to the front desk to express your concerns they act like they care about everything and do nothing about it, including all of the miscellaneous hidden charges that racked up my bill over $1200. You can’t leave an open tab at the Bar. You have to pay for each drink separately and they expect you to tip every time if you’re not a big wig if you don’t have money flowing out of your ears, don’t expect great bar service or table service near the bar. Do you have to complain to Simon the manager to get a little bit better service."

"Nice resort off beaten path. There was a very loud Hispanic family that was screaming and yelling every night. I had to complain to the front desk who told me they’re paying to stay here too. I won’t return as the resort should have addressed the situation before I had to complain and I didn’t like that they told me they’re paying to stay too."

"I do not recommend this hotel for a number of reasons. When I arrived and attempted to check in I was told that original booking should have been denied and I should have been notified - even though I had been receiving automated messages from the hotel. The front desk employee told me she’s need to contact her manager to “see what they could do”. This was on a busy holiday weekend and the thought of having to find alternative accommodations was nerve-racking. 45 minutes later I got a call and was told that I could have the room I originally booked. Great. If the issues had ended there it would have only been a minor frustration. I picked up my keys from the main office and drove to the hotel. It wasn’t until I arrived with my luggage and dive gear that I found out the elevator in my building was out of service. My hotel room for the week of diving was a four story walk-up. The front office said hotel security should have been out front to help guest with their baggage, but I didn’t see this happen once. In the end they offered me just $100 off for the whole week. Not worth the trouble. Book elsewhere."
