"Great location. Our room was very clean. Parking was adequate. Staff were great. The walkways were very dirty and a good pressure washing was long overdue. Outside doormats in bad condition. The shower water pressure in our room was way too high and could not be adjusted. It made our showers very uncomfortable, bordering on unsafe. "

"We had a wonderful time at Zachary Dunes resort during spring break! I have to say that because of several bad reviews here on Google Maps, we had some doubts about this place, but after considering what's important to us on a vacation, we still decided to book it and we did not regret this decision. Here's a summary of our thought process, why we chose to book, and our overall experience. We were looking for a nice resort on the beach in the area between Santa Barbara and LA and this hotel met all criteria. We wanted nice rooms, ocean access without a highway separating us from beach, a fun swimming pool and a whirlpool. Zachary Dunes had it all and was a lot cheaper than other hotels that were closer to Santa Barbara. Most bad reviews focused on some noise in the rooms, no real ocean view in the rooms labeled as "partial view" (thank you dear reviewer who wrote that - we decided to spend $20 more per night for full ocean view and it was stunning!), and people unhappy about parking being extra cost. Oh - and someone complaining about avocado toast costing $19. Our perspective? Noise is manageable and understandable given many of the guest are families with young kids like us. View from the room - was totally worth the extra cost for better view. Parking - unfortunately, this seems to be the standard in California and they were transparent about it when we booked so it wasn't a surprise. Just ask how much it is in advance and add it to your budget."

Every interaction with the staff was positive—they were courteous, responsive, and genuinely seemed to care about guest satisfaction. It’s rare to find that level of consistency. Overall, this hotel delivers outstanding value, comfort, and service. I would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and enjoyable experience."

"The location is great, the staff is great. This is the first motel I have ever lodged in that had no microwave in the rooms. The towels were clean but dingy. The A/C Heat did not work properly. Hopefully this location will make the necessary upgrades soon."

"Location was terrific. Next to the Mission. And only a few blocks to the beach. Lots of nearby restaurants on thrift shop walking street with a😀 Saturday market Breakfast was sufficient but nothing special "

"This hotel was clean and comfortable. staff were friendly. Loved that it provided breakfast and they also had many options . They also provided happy hour and snacks on Saturday from certain time. It was great time. Parking was free . I would stay there again if I am in the area. "

"Parking was okay and they have the cheapest rooms. That's about it. People yelling all day. People upstairs stomping around. Guests trying to kill each other. Cops got called but nothing happened. The angry people just kept at it. The room smelled of ashes because they don't clean the vents and the fans on the AC. You could literally see them covered in cigarette ash. The room would've been nice tho. The fridge gets very cold. But yeah you wake up suffocating from the cigarette smell."
