TownePlace Suites by Marriott Outer Banks Kill Devil Hills
4/10 Poor
"The floors were very sandy. I just checked my credit card and I was charged $200.00 for the pet fee that I was quoted $100.00. Their dog park was full of holes and tall weeds. I asked when they were going to cut the tall weeds and 5 days later the weeds all around the hotel still hadn’t been cut. For a Marriott that place needed a lot of maintenance work inside and outside. The breakfast was okay and the clean up ladies were very nice."
"Free internet not useable, construction in the halls with a lot of noise, on site bar and grill very poor, microwave food. The only good thing was the location. Bending on poor condition and torn"
"I loved staying there because it was right on the ocean and the staff was exceptionally friendly. I also loved the beach bistro. We had a wonderful breakfast there."
"My family and I loved staying here! The room was clean and smelled great when we got there. The air conditioning was running and kept the room cool our entire stay. We were on the first floor and loved the sliding glass door that led straight out to the beach.
There was a broom in the closet that definitely came in handy after bringing all the sand back into the room.
The breakfast was delicious. There were a lot more options than I have seen at other hotels, although I would have loved a different variety of fruit since I have young children and the oranges and apples are not easy to peel. But the kids loved the waffles and there was a great assortment of yogurt and cereals.
We did not have to interact with the staff often, but they were pleasant in passing and the check in/check out process was a breeze.
The playground for the kids was a godsend because the second day of our stay was so insanely windy we couldn’t enjoy the beach or pool. But we spent a few hours in the sandbox with a fun wooden ship play set and that kept the kids happy and entertained.
This spot is also surrounded by fun things to do (we did putt-putt, the Wright Brothers Memorial and Jockey’s Ridge) but there was a lot more we didn’t get to do that was close by.
Despite the windy day we had a blast and are already planning to go back again next summer and will definitely be staying here again."
"Not crowded nice pool next to beach access you do have to walk across the street to go to the beach pool and front desk. There was trash from the previous person in the freezer and also in the drawers which was surprising but for the price I don’t really care there wernt bugs it didn’t stink the tub was clogged though"
