Posada Real Los Cabos
6/10 Okay
"Decent, clean room accommodations, buffet style breakfast with basic options...maybe not worth the price depending upon selection. Staff offered very basic service and interactions, nothing special in comparison to other adjacent properties. "
"I recently stayed at Paradisus Los Cabos and unfortunately the experience did not meet expectations for a resort of this level.
We had no hot water for approximately 36 hours, with no prior communication. I only discovered this while in the shower, which was particularly frustrating as it happened on the day I had a spa booking and negatively affected the experience.
Housekeeping was kind and attentive with general tidying, and the staff overall were friendly. However, there was a lack of consistency with changing bed linens—it took over 24 hours and multiple requests (including concierge follow-ups) for the sheets to be changed.
There was also a lack of transparency around upgrades. Although availability appeared to exist, no upgrade was offered. Instead, I was told that the Expedia discounts and added services I received were due to upgrade unavailability, which is misleading as those are standard Expedia Platinum benefits.
Despite raising these concerns and having photo evidence, no compensation or meaningful resolution was offered.
While the staff were kind and the resort has positive aspects, the lack of communication, inconsistency in service, and limited accountability made the overall experience disappointing."
"We stayed at the Royal Solaris in Cabo as a family of four with young kids and overall had a really enjoyable experience.
The biggest highlight was the staff — consistently friendly, welcoming, and polite throughout our stay. A special mention goes to Rena and Cesar at the kids club, who were absolutely fantastic. They created such a fun and engaging environment that our kids were begging to go back every single day, which made a big difference for us as parents.
Food was another strong point. The buffet offered a good variety with reliable quality, and there was always something for everyone to enjoy. The snack bar and pizza area were also great options for quick, casual meals in between activities.
There were a few downsides. Our room door wasn’t very soundproof, so noise from the corridor carried through quite easily. Being on the first floor meant a lot of foot traffic at all hours, which could be disruptive, especially at night. We also used the on-site restaurants three times — while the food and service were good, the experience felt a bit rushed each time.
Lastly, securing good sun loungers was logistically frustrating. Although the hotel says not to reserve before 8am, it wasn’t strongly enforced, so most prime spots were taken unless you were up around 6:30am.
Overall, it’s a great family-friendly resort with excellent staff and solid food, but a few areas could definitely be improved."
"We truly appreciated the overall friendliness and professionalism of the staff during our stay. Nearly everyone we interacted with was kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. There was one individual at the café whose demeanor felt uncharacteristically rude, but aside from that isolated experience, the rest of the team was warm and accommodating.
We also recognize that the staff made sincere efforts to assist us during a few unexpected situations throughout our stay. However, in several instances, we found that we needed to follow up multiple times before receiving the help or resolution we initially requested. While the outcome was often positive, the process could have been smoother and more proactive.
The resort itself is visually appealing, with a thoughtful and attractive design. That said, the online photos create an impression that feels more elevated than the reality. The pool area, while nicely designed, did not seem adequately sized for the number of guests. It was often difficult to find seating, and the need to pay extra for cabanas—combined with a lack of available chairs—was disappointing and detracted from the experience.
The beach is undeniably beautiful, as is common in Cabo. However, it is important to note that swimming is not feasible in this area due to strong currents, which is typical for most beaches in the region except for places like Chileno Beach where snorkeling is possible.
One recurring concern was the presence of unpleasant sewer-like odors"
"Clean room, good support from staff, bed was queen I guess but was short for a couple. Good location to know the neighborhood and cool attractions around"
