It's authentic with just a few important nods to Western expectations (like loos, toilet paper etc.) The family can't do enough for you, including free hotel transfers. The food is great (although you do have to order in advance, but there are plenty of excellent restaurants nearby). The apartments at the front with balconies are incredible value for money. "
