This property was stunning. Gorgeous views westward over the rolling Tuscan hills, paired with a cozy spa and relaxing outdoor pool were the perfect setting for a portion of our honeymoon. The staff was very friendly/helpful and management certainly does a superb job maintaining this historical setting.

This was the most amazing place to stay! This was our favorite stop on a 30-day trip to Greece, Italy and Switzerland. The surrounding countryside is stunning. Our room had a Turkish Bath - what a fun experience. We were a couple of weeks in to our vacation, and we were ready for some down time. Having a private little garden, overlooking the Tuscan hillside was WONDERFUL. The dinner we had on site was one of the best of our entire trip. Breakfast in the morning was an incredible display...

Easy walking distance to the center of Florence on a tree-lined street. Treated like royalty from professional, friendly staff.

This place was amazing. The staff was welcoming, the food at the restaurant was AMAZING and the hotel surroundings are exactly what you would expect from a premium hotel in the Chianti region. Breathtaking views and sense of serenity made my experience there great.

Everything was top notch and the food was amazing

The place is very clean and quiet. It is in an exclusive neighborhood. Very safe to walk around. Their staff are very friendly and very service oriented. Breakfast was faboulous. The only thing is, it is a little further away from the city. Need a taxi to go anywhere but the taxi is also readily available and staff will call them for us. Wait time is very short usually less than 10 minutes.

Loved this hotel! I stayed here with my husband for our honeymoon and couldn't have asked for a better place. The grounds and gardens are stunning with an awesome view of the Tuscan hill sides.The spa and pool are great for relaxing after coming back from wine tasting. This is truly a gem in the middle of Chianti.

If you are planning to visit Florence, this is the hotel you should book! It won't let you down. Your Florence stay will be brilliant and memorable. I booked this hotel after read someone's comment. As I learned, the location is a bit far from the center of city. Even so, it is still worth to stay at this hotel. If you take a taxi, it costs 10 euro from/to hotel approxilately. For money savers, taking a bus #14 just for 2 euro may be suitable. The bus stop for #14 is only 2 blocks walk...

Once again we stayed at La Gemma, a wonderful boutique hotel in Florence (Firenze), with all you need in life from a hotel— comfort, location, beauty in decoration, superb breakfasts, and a nice bar. This time, we want to single out Marinella among the staff—she was the maestro at the breakfast, directing us and others at our tables, taking our orders with a smile (never the same, my wife and I) and more. But all the team is great—from the bosses to the cleaning people and the restaurant staff....

As much as reading reviews on line can help with decisions, I tend to trust people that I know to make suggestions when traveling to a new place for the first time. That is how I found this gem. I honestly cannot think of one negative thing to say about this property or the people that work there. Great location, good breakfast, nice bar. We did not eat dinner there, but the free breakfast was pretty complete and they sure know how to make a great cappuccino. The hotel staff was always friendly...

Wonderful place, great service and very good restaurant

Great property. Great staff. Food was incredible both in quality, taste and the ambiance surrounding dining. One note is that Expedia and their site make it appear that there is one room for each category. We stayed in the prestigious suite and thought we'd have the small pool within the room. We were given another room and while it was stunning, we did suggest updating their site so it would clarify. Nevertheless, a great quiet get away while touring Italy's Tuscan region!

A mansion on top of a hill overlooking a magnificent view of Florence, very helpful efficient and smiling staff. the hotel itself is a perfect mix of historical and contemporary decoration. Beautiful rooms and delightful grounds. exquisite stay worth every penny spent. Always follow Nino's advice (the Concierge) for shopping and dining in Florence. This was an incredibly beautiful property with an amazing staff. It is so peaceful and serene. Only a few things irritated us. They need a qualified bartender and a bell man. The cobble stone hill made it difficult to hall luggage from the gravel parking lot. With that being said, I would do it over again. It was one of my most favorite locations.

Located in a gorgeous hill top picture-perfect sits this jewel of a hotel and spa! You are a 3 minute walk from one of the great restaurants in Europe the two star Arnolfo! Great base to enjoy Tuscany from.

The grounds are beautiful, and our room was so nice. The bathroom is huge, which was a great bonus. We had lunch by the pool and dinner at the restaurant, and both meals were excellent. The food is great, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It's the perfect spot if you want to relax without ever having to leave the resort. It's ideal for a weekend getaway and is only about a two-hour drive from Rome. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely return.

Limited transportation and the taxis were extremely expensive they will charge 165 euros one way for 30 minute drive. If you plan to go to Tuscany you need a car btw most cars are manual I don’t know how to drive it so I was stuck in the hotel for few days. To use public transportation you need to walk 39 minutes and is a lil dangerous because they don’t have side walk in the 15minutes from your trip.
