"Nice hotel, beautifully decoration in lobby and common areas. Rooms on the small side do Chinese standards, but good enough. Furniture for me was reaching its life limit for me, but comfortable indeed. Short on facilities (just one restaurant) and if you want to have a drink at the bar, the challenge is to find a waiter as they are the same attending the restaurant and they need to run for one end to the other. Waiters however, really nice and helpful"
"The hotel location is closer to Shuhe township but the affordable DiDi taxi transports make other places highly accessible. The gym and pool access was not clearly labelled and we have to figure out an alternative way to access them. The staff are friendly and breakfast comprises a good variety of food, delicious too! Our room is located next to a restaurant that is under renovation so the noise at times during the day was not pleasant. The room is very spacious and comfortable. Overall, the stay is lovely."
"Very nice hotel!!! One of the nicest and comfortable rooms I have seen in China. Friendly staff and good breakfast. If any, restaurant is closed at nights but you can access the sites intercom Hotel next door"
"Un hotel súper recomendado te hacen sentir como
En casa!! Definitivamente me volvería a quedar aquí. Un hotel super limpio y muy bien ubicado en el centro de todo. Amie definitivamente una gran anfitriona. Fue una muy buena experiencia "
"Nice hotel in excellent condition. Great views of the lake and friendly staff, but limited English. A bit far away from the ancient town and the pagodas. Restaurant Maher at night… she is great!!!"
InterContinental Lijiang Ancient Town Resort by IHG
8/10 Good
"We stayed at the Intercontinental hotel for two nights. The hotel grounds are very impressive and the staff is highly trained and speak very good English. We didn't use any of the facilities, but we did enjoy the great breakfast.
The hotel is located on the edge of Lijiang's old town. So while it's quite touristy, it's not as crowded as the centeral area.
So why only 4 stars? Here's the thing, we asked the hotel for a large taxi, fitting for four people and four large suitcases. The destination was Shaxi, about a 2 hours drive. They wanted 1,600 RMB for the trip. Why? Dunno. Because it's an expensive hotel, maybe. But I'd expect a hotel with Chinese speaking locals to help us get the best deal possible, not rip us off. How do I know it was a rip off? I texted a random driver with a van on wechat and got the same ride for 700 Yuan. That was also way too steep (the hotel owner in Shaxi explained it should cost 400-500).
The experience left a bad taste on my mouth. I'd recommend staying at a cheaper, less 'luxurious' hotel, where you're not just a walking wallet to them."
"Great value! Modern fully equipped room, wonderful staff. Their gym only has cardio equipment though, it could use a few weights. My Apple Maps went haywire and took me somewhere a few kilometers away. Be sure to download Chinese Didi"
Sightseeing doesn't have to be expensive. You if want to get outdoors, try a visit to Erhai Lake or make a stop at attractions like Haijing Customs Site, Hua'ning. Don't forget to include a visit to Lake Dian.
