If you want to give your credit card some exercise, head out to Malioboro Street in Central Yogyakarta. Splash some more cash at Malioboro Mall, Bringharjo Market, and Pasar Beringharjo.
If you're planning a bit of sightseeing head to Tugu Yogyakarta— just one of the monuments in Central Yogyakarta. You could also start your cultural experience by heading over to the museums in the area.
Commune with nature and explore the great outdoors at Mount Merapi during your travels in Pakem. Wander the forest or discover the area's mountain views.
You can browse the exhibits at Taman Sari, a museum with a storied past, during your trip to Kraton. While in this culturally rich area, find time to visit its shops.
"I thought the value for the Level room was very good, especially the daily laundry perk. What needed improvement was the canapes at the evening social hour. They lacked a balance with some Western food and the funny thing was an intern opened a new bottle of while wine for me (very nice) and served it warm....she just needs some coaching. You do not need to dress to go into the lounge. My spouse loved the unlimited cokes. The breakfast in the lounge is acceptable, just not the hot stations and honestly, I didn't like the eggs downstairs so it was no loss. The staff in the lounge was very attentive but they are NOT knowledgeable about how to check you out and do not speak enough English to communicate. I suggest having us all check out in the lobby as I was worried my credit card company would suspend it's use since she swiped it so many times in an effort to get it to work. The room was pleasant but the grounds are lovely, the restaurants are very good (have the pumpkin soup). Tours for pick ups here were easy as well as taking local t, they knew the Melia. Well done!"
"This property was a greay stay with an amazing location near some great resturants and coffee shops. It was only let down by the very loud noise of the air con fan and the wifi cut in and out constantly especially in our room. Overall though it was clean, rooms were nice and the staff were amazing."
"Amazing and friendly staff who are always looking out for you and your wellbeing.
The place was 200m away from the market which has local delicious food. It is also 100m from the Tugu Yogyakarta which has many cafes at the roundabout. It’s also 5min away by car to the Tugu Yogyakarta train station and 5-15min away from malioboro mall.
The swimming pool is a relaxed and conducive place."
"Definitely deserves its 4-star rating. Clean, comfortable, good breakfast spread, and lovely (though very cold) pool. Grateful for the hospitality too!
In terms of location, you will need to take Gojek (private hire vehicles) around anyway and it’s a good and central spot for pickups."
