Emotions by Hodelpa - Juan Dolio - All inclusive
6/10 Okay
"The bar was stoked and the air-conditioning was very cold. I had to turn off and get a blanket.
Most of the staff are not people or service friendly.
A few that stood out were Ana in the buffet, Alejandro in the timeshare area, Elias that took us over to the timeshare, the young lady that served us in the "reserved"outside timeshare bar area.
Our daughter was ill 2/2 water contamination and was limited on what she could eat as she was bedridden. There was minimal help in getting food to her from the folks in charge. Room service was not available on several occasions to bring food to her. Our VIP status meant nothing. "
"I had the most amazing time at Casa Hemingway. This was exactly what I had envisioned. I traveled with my son on our first solo trip ever. As a solo parent, this means everything. I felt safe walking throughout the property. The staff ensured that when I was walking at night the next staff member was ready to receive me to get to my destination. Thank you! We were able to disconnect from our daily lives and felt safe doing so. "
"Majority of the staff was very nice and accommodating especially since we did not speak Spanish. Most speak only Spanish but tried to understand. Be prepared for a lot of cigarette/cigar smoke everywhere especially at the beach "

"2 of 9 restaurants had availability (booked on day 1 of an 8 day stay)
Room was worn, furniture was not comfortable, sheets- no blankets requested from housekeeping- received 2 days later after many many requests.
Room service was a joke- ordered a simple drink and it never arrived.
If you want a pool chair plan on getting up before sunrise to go 'claim' one.
Buffet was BAD some days and ok other days. Spa staff and treatments were ok, no shower/dressing room or sauna/steam before or after booked treatment.
This resort is 1.5 hr from the airport. And further from most activities .. $120usd for airport shuttle each way.
Would not stay here again."
"Very helpful and friendly staff and a good location for our needs. Set in a golf resort so great for golfers visiting the island. This hotel is in need of a renovation it was looking a little tired. The room was satisfactory the bed was extremely comfortable. The shower worked for the most part, the safe however was broken and the ripped curtains wouldn’t close properly but on the positive side the antiquated fridge and microwave did work. Although this hotel was on the cheaper side of all inclusives in the area I don't feel it was value for money they certainly didn’t invest in good quality alcohol and food. Only one restaurant with buffet style food no à la carte menu choices and very standard offerings such as chicken white fish and pork cutlet, pasta and rice at every meal. I was looking forward to a few nice rum cocktails by the pool and a complete relax but the low quality of the spirits made this impossible. I didn’t know it was possible to have a bad rum in the Caribbean The wine wasn’t good either. The staff were doing the best they could I really couldn’t fault them always smiling and happy to help."
"This property was likely very beautiful many years ago when it first opened and the highlight photos were taken but it has clearly been neglected for some time. Neither the rooms nor the property were as clean and sufficiently stocked with necessities as I would expect. The beds were not comfortable, WiFi was spotty, and linens seemed old and lacking freshness.
The only upsides were the ac worked well and the few staff members we encountered tried to be helpful.
If you do still decide to stay here and you want to order food for children, do not order the pizza. You will be disappointed. Other food options were okay.
Thankfully, we only stayed one night. My family and I were very disappointed so I want to make sure future Expedia users know what they’re getting into. Expedia should require property hosts to post photos within the last year or two."
