Dinosaur Inn & Suites
10/10 Excellent
"Room was well appointed and clean. Very well supplied as well.
Breakfast was OUTSTANDING. We loved the wonderful service and the smiles and friendly exchanges our server provided. Having less contact of our food with others was a definite plus! Home made cinnamon rolls were very good as well. Plentiful food options.
Clean facility - pleasantly surprised.
Great feedback when told desk clerks about a couple room repairs we noticed.
Definite plus was a provided shower mat - this is unusual and appreciated as traveling as an older couple and slipping is a concern.
We will definitely stay again if we are in the area!"
Comfort Inn & Suites Vernal - National Monument Area
4/10 Poor
"The comfort inn in vernal is in an older building that needs some maintenance, but that isn’t the problem with the hotel.
The real issue is the staff. They are either incompetent, lazy, just don’t care, or more likely a mixture of all the above. Of my multiple day stay, the front desk was only manned twice. The breakfasts were poor - for example, the sausage had immense amounts of salt in it that it was inedible- and the same food was served every day. The housekeeping was abysmal - as the rooms were quite dirty - mold in the bathrooms, visible dirt and particulates on the carpet, stained chairs, furniture dusty, and what appeared to be snot on the remote. Broken doors, walls that needed painting, furniture that needed replacing, amongst other things showed that the maintenance staff was nonexistent or just incompetent.
The worst part was that after a few days in the hotel bed was that I developed a rash on my side that I slept on - really quite gross when I think what must have been making that rash.
The only shiny light was that the rooms were cheap - but, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for."
"The staff was extremely helpful at checkin. My husband used a wheelchair and walker. I called ahead and ask for a room that minimized walking. They upgraded us to a suite that provided space for the wheelchair and walker.
I took issue with some of the cleaning. Counter tops and the table had food spots on them.
Breakfast had a nice selection of hot items as well as pastries, yogurt, fruit, etc.
The HVAC unit in the bedroom was VERY noisy and in need of repair."
