The KOHO Air Hotel
8/10 Good
"Koho has the potential to be an excellent hotel, though sadly they seem distracted: they’ve opened a new spa, added rooms?! and seem more focused on all this than the guest experience. They had a photographer staying, models or even the dreaded “influencers” and it was all a bit weird.
Deluxe studio was good, with a large bed and decent bathroom (didn’t like how bright the air-con dials made the room at night, mind) but it was also next to the bar, where they chop ice before 7am, sweep outside your room before 7…staff mean well, but it was a bit frustrating.
They also had a bad habit of playing the music too loud: again, if more focus was on the basics, there’s a lot of potential here.
Overall, I did quite enjoy staying at Koho; but was also disappointed as I hoped for more."
"A nice hotel overall with some lovely features, but a few areas that could definitely be improved.
The pool area is beautiful, with a really picturesque waterfall that makes it a great place to relax. However, do be careful as there are quite a few chipped areas around the pool where you could easily cut yourself. The poolside bar also felt a bit underwhelming—it looked quite empty and lacked atmosphere, so it could definitely do with being jazzed up a bit.
One downside was the towels provided at the pool. They were quite small and only covered about half of the lounger, and when we asked for extra towels, we were told no, which was a bit disappointing.
Breakfast, on the other hand, was a highlight. It was included in our stay and started with a lovely bowl of fresh fruit and granola brought to the table, followed by a great selection of options like pancakes, salmon, avocado on toast, and eggs.
The rooms were nice with pretty standard amenities, although the lighting wasn’t great for getting ready. One thing to note is that the bathrooms are outdoors, so if you’re not a fan of sharing your space with the occasional cockroach, ant, or lizard, this might not be the hotel for you.
One suggestion would be for the hotel to offer bikes complimentary to guests. It feels a bit odd having to pay to use hotel bikes when you’re already staying there—it made it feel more like a rental shop than a hotel in that respect."
"Great little hotel. Centrally located in busy area. Plunge pool room great for cooling off at night. Hot water wasn’t the best. Food amazing!
I would return. Special mention to Rial for great friendly service"
"Couldn’t rate this hotel highly enough. The staff were excellent, the breakfast was incredible. Only issue was our stay was too short. Two nights were not enough. As a family of 4 we throughly enjoyed "
"Very nice stay on Gili T. This hotel is located on the west end of the island which is quieter and less rowdy. I walked here from the pier in 30 mins with my luggage by cutting through the middle of the island. There isn't a beach here, rather just a wall where the waves hit, and you're separated by the road. Staff is kind, especially the two ladies in the front reception and I had a great balinese massage by a sweet masseuse. Live music every night from fantastic musicians. Breakfast is ordered Ala carte and is just ok in my opinion. Lots of seating by the pool, but they are very particular about the beach umbrellas. Perhaps because they break so easily. Island is small and you can rent a bicycle from the front desk. You can ride around the island in an hour. One day I rode around 3x. Cute resident cat. "
