"I like staying in a brick oven, that smelled like stinky pickles- with a rude concierge… the courtyard was cute though."

"Everything was nice and clean. The room was really nice generous size. It’s a little outdated but not too old and it being clean makes totally up for that. Plenty of space for our dog as well. There was also a little aircon unit that helped on the current heat and a little fridge. Definitely worse the money."

"I stay here frequently due to the ideal location for my place of work, since the hotel changed hands several years ago it hasnt been the same, its very poorly staffed, often only one or two staff in at any one time, having to deal with check-in, the bar and any resturant needs. I have stayed in numerous rooms and all seem to have no or little regular maintenance especiall the showers where a good de-scale of the heads, and repairs to the controls are neccessary. Most of the staff are very helpful however I feel the overall management of this hotel is the primary cause of the issue mentioned."

"We checked in at around 5pm after travelling 400 miles from Glasgow hoping to relax and get ready for a pre wedding function to attend at 6pm. To our utmost disappointment we discovered that our room was not ready. It was in a mess left by the previous guests. When we complained at the reception then duty manger came up and apogised and offered us free drinks until the room was made ready, which we refused. We were short of time and had to use the room as it was to get ready and used our own towels to freshen up and left for the party. The room was done up nicely when we returned from the party. Staff were helpful and friendly. On checkout we complained about our experience and requested a refund for the first night of our stay for the inconvnience. Duty manager did apologise and couldn't offer refund. We were promised that the hospitality manager will contact us. Adding to our disappointment, we haven't heard anything from them until today."

"Amazing experience — everything was wonderful but if you want to horse back ride I would suggest booking WAY in advance. Spa and food was incredible. A little warm with no AC but otherwise sublime"

"Convenient location. Parking was round the corner and the entrance to the cathedral was across the street. Five minute walk to the shops etc. The staff was extremely helpful. Excellent breakfast. In house restaurant. Historic and quaint property which is its big charm but also means no elevators or air conditioning. All other modern amenities are present. Bathrooms are fully modern. Rooms are very clean."
