The Tower Hotel, by Thistle
4/10 Poor
"I’m really disappointed with our stay at The Tower Hotel.
We booked a family room (Room 860) expecting a clean and comfortable space, but unfortunately it was anything but. On arrival, there were long hairs in the bathtub, hair on the bed, and the floors clearly hadn’t been hoovered. To make matters worse, there were flies/gnats in the room, and a constant beeping noise that made it difficult to relax.
We contacted reception to raise these issues and also asked for an extra heater as the room was very cold. A member of housekeeping came up, picked a few hairs off the bed, left a heater, and then left again. The wider cleanliness issues and the noise were not addressed at all.
I’m writing this while lying in the bed feeling itchy, uncomfortable, and unable to sleep—which really says everything about the standard of the room.
Overall, this was a very poor experience and not what you would expect from a hotel like this, especially when travelling as a family. I would strongly recommend checking your room thoroughly on arrival or considering alternative accommodation."
"Great historic hotel in a lovely neighborhood of diplomatic missions in South Kensington. Historic & atmospheric lobby, great on-site restaurant for a quick or a proper sitdown meal & a well-stocked bar. Rooms are renovated and, while not spacious, are well-appointed with marble baths, excellent bath products & extras. Staff are super helpful and allowed a complimentary early check-in for a pair of tired travelers at 11 am. Extra blankets were provided promptly, as requested. Highly recommend."
"the hotel staff here was incredible. we get there to check our bags in and it was the kindest group of people. and my travel partner had a small medical issue and the staff went above and beyond to provide some medical supplies. the kindest and most wonderful people work at this hotel. the room was great. i cannot wait to stay here again. everyone from the bartenders to the room service staff? all incredible. i had a wonder stay here. "The sea container offered the best location, with five-star service. The bellmen are exceptional. The front desk and room service are delicious. I want to be in the heart of everything, enjoying a modern and vacation-like vibe. Book here"
