Guadalajara is a city famed for its deep history and culture, as well as being the home of mariachi music and stunning historic buildings, public plazas, and landmarks. You can visit the Palacio del Gobierno to see murals by famous painter José Clemente Orozco, visit the Guadalajara Cathedral with its towering golden spires, or take the kids to Zoologico Guadalajara. The city is also marked by gigantic traditional indoor markets like Mercado Libertad with its nearly 3,000 stalls.

You can head for a classic amusement park to ride roller coasters and thrill rides, play games, and eat carnival food. Outdoor adventures abound here, from exploring the Barranca de Oblatos canyon to spending some relaxation time in the Bosque Los Colomos nature park. Adults will enjoy a day trip to Tequilla on the Jose Cuervo Express. While in Tequilla, visit the distilleries for a tasting of this distinct liquor.
